Ferment the Orange Wine Centre & Store
Cool wine bar and wine tasting place for the smaller and niche wineries that don’t have their own cellar door. You’ll also find local gin and rum, so you have the entire spectrum covered. Regularly features the wine makers themselves so you can really get to the bottom of the bottle. Great place to visit and they can also deliver on orders so you can always be going back to the finest that Orange has to offer!

This place was such a rip off. We were charged $20 each for a tasting of 6 wines. We purchased 8 bottles of wine and a bottle of gin and the tasting dollars were not refunded. Not to be recommended.

Ferment the Orange Wine Centre & Store
The worst part of Orange. We asked whether only 2 of us could do tasting, not the driver. We were refused, manager stated everyone has to do tasting or he won’t do it. We explained again that this is rather odd as driver has to remain sober. The manger then enforced he won’t do tasting unless it’s all 3 of us, further giving us “advice” on top that non of the wineries will agree to this.Beside this being irresponsible service of alcohol for which this business should be fined. All wineries were more than accommodating to our driver and to us.It is the first place we stopped in Orange and we won’t recommend it to anyone. If you want to truly experience amazing wines, visit vineyards. This place should not be on the visitor map.

I visited Ferment as I was short on time and wanted to taste several Chardonnays side by side as well as a few Pinot Noirs. Ferment carries wine from producers that don’t have cellar doors. This is an excellent venue to taste the wines of small artisanal winemakers.Well worth a visit, great as it’s open when most cellar doors have closed.Put it on your list….

The shop was closed on Monday evening. We were visiting and wanted to get some local wines. Next day we went to the shop, finally. The selection of local wines was limited. The person in charge of the store wasn't friendly. He seemed annoyed that we interrupted his work on the computer but he did give me a good alternative to the sparkling i was looking for. So, I greatly appreciate it. I would not go back but rather do my research ahead of the next trip and visit wineries.The building is absolutely stunning!!!

We stopped by for a drink for the first time whilst waiting to pick up a friend from the airport. Alex was the bars host and he was a delight to chat to. He made us feel super comfortable and welcomed as we’ve just moved to orange. Great conversation and an excellent selection of wines. We also ordered the sardines which came with bread crackers and cheese and it was simple and delicious.Alex chose a wine for me after I told him what I liked as I am definitely particular. The overall vibe of the bar is casual and we are looking forward to going to one of their upcoming events.

Incredible location. Sitting outside on a Summer evening enjoying the incredible knowledge Gem had to share with us about the wines in the local region. The wine tasting ends at 5pm but Gem was happy to tailor her recommendations based on what we like. The ‘DIY’ tastings inside were a great idea and very reasonably priced. We also ate the bar food which was modest but delicious. In short, I can not recommend this place enough. Gem was an incredible host and I would gladly go back and purchase from her again. 5 stars!

Such vibes!An amazing cellar door hosting local wines from the orange radius. Got a really good tasting, ensuring we got to sipple on wines we were into. Cool different drinking options, tastings and just a chill place to hang.Ps they also have an incredible blood orange GnT which is in the pic so pls don’t hate on the non wine pic

I just dropped in for an impromptu look at the gin options, but stayed for a delightful tasting and a great chat. I bought the Stone Pine native gin, which smells like a London gin, but tastes smoother with the Australian native ingredients.
