Hawka Thai Massage

I booked a couple massage for mum and me for Mother’s Day. It was my first Thai massage and first couple massage. My previous experience tells me that they usually like a bit of chat with you during the massage. But apparently this place expect you to be quiet, which I wasn’t aware of.I booked a couple massage so that I can help my mum who doesn’t speak English to express her feelings and requests. We were not talking at all during the first half of it, and then I checked with my mum is the pressure was okay and if he would like anywhere to be massaged particularly. Then my mum started reminding me about her arm injury she had a few years back. When I was about to find out more, we were told by her masseuse Nancy to be “quiet” cuz they had customers next door. Shocking!!! We were not loud for starters, and it wasn’t a prolonged conversation either. Her tone was like basically saying “shut up you two!”Never ever been to a massage place so institutional where customers were talked down to. Not going back!

Do not recommend. I get massages every 2-3 weeks. My masseuse (Jin) lacked skill and was unable to offer good deep tissue massage (all she was able to do was put her body weight through her elbows onto one part of my muscles). She was unable to understand feedback either. My 60 min session was also cut short to 54 mins. What a shame. I think I need a massage after that ‘massage’

Excellent all round. Very clean and well presented premises, friendly staff and a wonderful massage. Very relaxing but also effective. My therapist was very respectful and listened to my needs. I'm looking forward to my next visit already!

I don’t know but I didn’t have a good experience here, I went to get a massage on my lower back and ask for a strong person who can give a strong massage but I got a person who doesn’t know how to massage and doesn’t even understand what I am saying, I asked her to apply more pressure more than 10 times and then I give up. May be think twice before you head down here.

This is the most professional and relaxing massage shop I have ever been to. The ladies are so caring and certainly know their trade. I would highly recommend this shop and a special thank you to Jess and Boom Karl Jones

As someone who has lived and travelled all over Thailand and SEA, Hawka Thai Massage is probably the closest thing to an authentic Thai Massage experience in Canberra for a reasonable price. It was very clean, staff were nice, friendly and professional. The 1hr remedial massage was fantastic.

Easily the best massage I've had , my new favourite massage place, everything they do is steps ahead of the rest .

I have had many massages at this facility and all the masseurs are professional and responsive to ones needs. Highly recommend them.

If you are looking for a place where they just dig body weight elbows into you and leave you in the end walking out stressed and totally ripped off then this is the place for you.Easily one of the worst massages I have ever had, after telling the massage lady 3 times that I wanted medium pressure with no stretching or slapping me at the end she did the opposite and just kept doing her own thing doing whatever she wanted with no technical skill or care.They really need to hire people that listen and understand what customers want and have people that actually have skills to do this kind of job.
