It is a Gold Coast institution for a reason. I like to go try new places but when I come back here I’m not sure why I go trying anywhere else. Coffee and service are always on point and the food is unique with fresh ingredients. I had the stracciatella toast. The flavours were unique and worked well together. The nudja was probably the spiciest I’ve ever had and I’ll be feeling it for days to come but that’s my own fault; I’m sure there is a less spicy option I could have gone with. Also some Michelle Branch playing in the background, what a Sunday morning vibe!

Great atmosphere inside this amazing cafe in the Gold Coast. Loved their QR order services outdoor. I like their egg Benedict with hash especially. Perfect coffee temperature, not too hot, not too cold, taste better. Good brunch!Could have been 5 stars. Area of Improvement: Table Service.

Acai bowl is pretty small serve for the price. Chicken Burger was ok. Coffee was good. My friend felt a bit unwell after the salad, not sure if it's the salmon. Service was great.

One of my go-to cafes on the Gold Coast. The place is always busy, especially on weekends with people enjoying chats over a delicious instagramable & modern cafe style dish and an espresso. The outdoor dining space is pet friendly, welcome to bring your dog and stop over for a caffeine refuel.One noticeable change since my last visit is their online QR menu. It’s all right at your fingertip. While it’s efficient and provides a good customer experience, all digital, let’s not forget the basic human need which is emotional connection. It’d be great to get staff to walk around and engage a friendly convo with your patrons, instead of just walking up to clean empty plates only, giving the impression “if you’ve finished your meal, aren’t planning to place another order, time for you to leave”.

Very nice place! The food is extremely nice and a great range to choose from. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. Of all the coffee shops around on the weekend, this is about the only one open. This is my choice of venue when I do presentations with my business with clients and also meet up with friends!

i went out for breakfast with friends and we did not have a good experience. We first notice hair in one of the meals.We ordered online and two of us wanted to order the same breakfast burger however online there were two completely different burgers with the same photos. which it was unacceptable that we had to pay extra for the right burger when it wasn’t our fault that there online menu didn’t updated and correct.3 out of 4 of us didn’t like the taste of the food that we orderedWe will not be coming back to blackboard cafe and won’t recommend

One of my favourite brunch spots on the Gold Coast that I’ve been to too many times to count over the years. Service has always been so welcoming, friendly and warm. The aesthetic and atmosphere in the cafe is wonderful. The outdoor space is great and pet friendly, in a beautiful spot in Varsity Lakes that’s perfect for takeaway coffee and food as well. Never struggled to find something on the menu I didn’t love, food is consistently great, and coffee is perfect. I’m going back a few years here, but they once gave my mum a bouquet of 20 beautiful white roses and complimentary breakfast, and from that they won me as a customer for life even after I’ve moved away from the coast.

Great spot for breakfast / brunch. It is really close to the lake. The lake is a gorgeous place to go for a walk.There is outdoor and indoor seating. It's quite big inside, so I imagine that if they are full, you wouldn't wait long to get a table. It was busy when we were there, but they made a plan for us to sit outside by getting another table from inside. They were very accommodating, and we didn't wait for more than a minute to be seated.Most seating outside is in the shade, but there are a few spots in the sun if you want it.The food is really good, the presentation is excellent, and the staff are friendly and efficient.The cookies in the glass cabinet look amazing! As do the croissants, bagels, and everything else there.I'll definitely be keen to go back here again.This place is dog friendly if you are seated outside.
