Gosford Private Hospital

Can't speak highly enough of the beautiful nurses here especially Fiona and Alexandra (the runner? Hope I got her name correct!) Both went above and beyond for me especially after a hard time in recovery post op. Facility wise - the rooms were so clean and so whisper quiet and the food and hot cups of tea were just what the Dr ordered. Overall, a lovely, well run hospital. Thanks again! Camille.

Four bed wards in a Private hospitalreally".Dirty facilities

They did a full hip on my 83 year old Mum, than gave her an unexpected 2 unit blood transfusion and 3 extra days in hospital, then SENT HER HOME to her incapacitated 84year old husband (who's had 2 strokes and 2 bouts with cancer) - with no physio, no rehab, mixed instructions, no home nursing and they had to drive themselves (no patient transport). Mum's got major swelling and we are worrying about compartment syndrome and possible DVT, and there's a tube sticking out of the wound that nobody knows what it's there for. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.OH WAIT! the update is that Mum DID have compartment syndrome AND a DVT and is under serious ongoing treatment and her recovery has stalled. No follow up from the hospital AT ALL. Looking at the bipolar nature of the hospital's reviews, perhaps this place is good for routine" but can't handle (forget any empathy even) anything that doesn't "go to plan"? Or do they have a special routine for "oldies"?"

I cannot thank the nurses enough at North Gosford Private hospital. They are amazing. Polite, friendly and nothing is a bother for them. Special call-outs to Oriana, Reachelle, Jess and Jam. These ladies are amazing. Nurses definitely deserve more credit and money for the work they do. Thank you for making my recovery better than it could have been.

I was admitted to Gosford Private Hospital for major spine surgery and I cannot speak highly enough of them in every aspect along my journey from arrival to being discharged. Here’s my review on the various areas:Admissions& pre theatre ward: Quick, friendly, professional and very comfy (heated blankets when they assign a bed to you etc). Very friendly staff. All pre op nerves disappear!Surgery: I had an amazing team of surgeons (led by world class neurosurgeon Marc Coughlan) and the entire theatre team including the anaesthetist crew were very calm, professional, gentle and above all, incredible at their jobs. I was super impressed. Their combined experience would be hard to match and the theatre was sparkling clean! Cutting edge tech and I knew I was in the best hands. Everything was explained beforehand and the communication was outstanding.ICU: Wow! What a great team! Nobody likes to be in ICU, but if you have to be, this is the team to get you through it in the best possible way. Again….professional, very gentle, super attentive to all requests and needs, and everything was incredibly clean and well organised! I had two ICU nurses, one make and one female and the care I received from them was nothing but respectful, fully understanding of my pain points, totally attentive and they were so gentle and caring. I cannot thank them enough.Surgical ward: The nursing team were incredible. I only had to press the call buzzer twice in the week I was there as they were never far away even though my room was furthest away from their main “hub”, and they were there in seconds not minutes. That team were so professional and friendly, it was a joy to have them around. They worked so well as a team and they were incredibly attentive to my needs…especially when pain relief was needed. The physio, Josh, and the occupational therapist were also extremely impressive…always going out of their way to make things just that bit better wherever possible. Extremely professional, very caring and a team that Gosford Private Hospital should be very proud of! They maintain exceptionally high nursing standards 24 hrs a day. They were consistently amazing.Food & catering:All the food is made on site! Menus were great…choices were varied to cater for all dietary requirements and the food itself was outstanding! Standard wise, it was good restaurant quality food. Even when options were limited on certain days or if a change to menu was made for whatever reason, it resulted in a more exciting option and I’m my case a wonderful meal being delivered if a replacement was needed. Two thumbs up from me on the food side of things! And the team delivering and taking the trays away were always super friendly and always with a smile and a warm greeting.Cleaning:By FAR the cleanest hospital I’ve had to stay in. The clean team were very friendly and carried out their duties with big smiles and a few jokes here and there. Honestly…that hospital is as clean as you can get them!To management: well done! You can take some of the credit, but I’d like to award most of the credit to the troops in the trenches! That hospital is a well oiled machine and you cannot achieve that without passionate, compassionate, dedicated and caring teams doing the doing! Well done! So many were working long hrs/ extended shifts etc…and always with a smile! Gosford Private Hospital: you made the experience of having to go through 8 hrs of painful spine surgery so much easier through your great team, great food and clean facilities. Unfortunately I had to attend this hospital for an operation. From the moment I set foot in this place I could not believe how efficient and friendly the staff were. From the check in staff, the surgeon who looked after me,the caring and wonderful nurses down to the the catering staff. If I had to go to hospital in the future I would not hesitate to attend this one.Well done everyone and Thank You.

The reception staff are useless and rude. No greeting.My typed admission form had many mistakes on it -wrong address, wrong title, wrong phone number etc.Nurses dont answer when you buzz themAlot of shouting, loud talking, laughter all night,and banging doors ect , all night by the night staff.Ignored at night-time when asking for help. Felt all alone.Catering assistant was aggressive towards me becauseI hadnt filled out the menu, when I just got out of surgery!Some private hospital" this was.No goodbyes when I was discharged. Just ignored."

Great hospital for private patients. Nursing staff were friendly and helpful. Food was amazing in comparison to public hospitals, very accommodating to individual needs. Renovation and upgrades needed in certain areas.
