Wow wow wow.I cannot begin to thank the whole team at Shehzarin Batha enough.First off, I signed up for a custom made dress which I backed out of because i was scared of not being able to see my dress until it was finished (there were no samples similar to what I had envisioned) so I went elsewhere and bought an off the rack dress, however I knew in my heart I wanted the dress Shehzarin had designed for me. So... I came crawling back about three months before my wedding and the lovely Shehz and Kanita agreed to make my dress.I had an absolute ball watching the process from a collaborative design approach to the toile fitting to the final product! The team are clearly extremely talented.The team had to also hem my dress at the last second because I fractured my ankle and was in a moon boot. I could barely walk and team member Harry literally let me lean on him so we could get my shoe on. I was so worried about not being able to walk on my wedding day that the team so kindly gave me some flowers on pickup of my dress.Just so much kindness and professionalism from everyone involved from Shehzarin to Kanita to Harry and Clara. Thank you all so so so much. You truly made the dress of my dreams, I received so many compliments on the night and I felt so special. Thank you thank you thank you! 500000000 stars!

LOVE! I could not recommend this place more! Shez is an incredible designer and Harry is such a talented couturier (There was a collective audible gasp of delight when I walked into the church!) Clara is a ray of sunshine and was so helpful and calm through every step of the process. I always felt like I was their number one priority. The dress fit me perfectly and looked spectacular! I wish I could wear it every day.

Working with them was very stress free; they have immaculate attention to detail, are so organised and you are kept informed during the process. I find it hard to keep my praise for Shehzarin Batha Couture to a minimum.After David and I announced our engagement, I started thinking about a dress. Having lost nearly 130kg, I had no idea what style I could wear. I decided to visit boutiques just to see what suited me, with a view to hiring something appropriate.All the boutiques were booked out for months. We went without an appointment, hoping to at least look at dresses, if not try them on.We tried other boutiques who couldn’t accommodate us. Shehzarin Batha had just had a cancellation and saw us straight away.In next hour I tried on two other dresses, before stepping into the sample of this incredible gown.To say I was bowled over is an understatement. With the incredible unique design and bespoke work in making it to measure by hand, it was beyond my wildest dreams.I nursed the hope in my heart that it might be possible, but eventually had to accept it was just not doable financially.With sadness I wrote this letter to the designer and owner of the boutique, and enclosed a copy of my book ‘Inch by Inch: Finding a Home within My Skin’.“Dear Shehz and Harry,I wanted to thank you both so much for your kindness and support when I came wedding dress shopping on Saturday.My nieces and I were so grateful that you fit us in for a fitting as soon as we arrived, when we knew that boutiques like yours are often booked out weeks and months in advance.Your care and attention during the hour-long fitting were second to none. I felt totally pampered and taken care of – and knew that you were both fully committed to helping me find the perfect dress for my special day.I would have so loved to be able to “say ‘yes’ to the dress”, and it nearly broke my heart not to be able to do so. If circumstances were different, I would not have hesitated in committing to this – but unfortunately I’ve had to face the difficult reality of juggling a tight budget for the wedding, which precludes us buying a new dress, especially one of such high quality, craftsmanship and beauty. We will now look at hiring a dress or buying one second-hand.
