My husband and I had lunch at the magnificent restaurant on Friday. Service was excellent and the food out of this world. We ordered the beef wellington to share with smoked mashed potatoes.....melt in your mouth meat..the mash was to die for.We will be going again

Had a great dinner here, all the food was fantastic! Great friendly service too - the staff were very down to earth.Would definitely recommend dinner here for anyone in Maldon/Castlemaine area.

The food Cedric cooks in this bistrot type restaurant is really excellent. He is a one man band in the kitchen and therefore it is a small menu.We had a superb beef Wellington today, first time for me and won’t forget it!The place is simple and we liked it. Claire is helping the service carrying her daughter who is a few months old.We had a great time there. It is as fresh as they come!

Beautiful French restaurant in Maldon near Castlemaine. Highly recommend preordering the Beef Wellington (+$30 on the course menus), best I have ever had. The leeks are also a highlight but safely too full for the apple tartine. Highly recommended, will be back.

The food was average.Meals took a long time to arrive and one meal didn’t come at all. We waited and waited while the meals which had arrived got cold and finally got the attention of the staff who told us they had served some walk ins and that they had run out of what we had ordered. We booked for this dinner over a month ago.We later found out that the food had been dropped on the floor but no one had bothered to tell us it wasn’t coming. They offered one option as a replacement (quail) which wasn’t something suitable for the diner not to mention this would have taken another half hour. We shared the edible portions of the undercooked cold soggy beef Wellington ($96 for a two person serve) between us. The owner was disrespectful and rude, offered no apologies or compensation. It was a terribly disappointing dining experience and certainly not worth the $120+ per person or distress it cost us.Never again.

Dined here on the evening of Saturday 30th Oct. Service by Claire (I think that is her name) was 1st class. There were a couple of unavailable dishes, but we understood because the restaurant is brand new. There’s bound to be some teething issues with supply given the Covid climate! We had a bottle of Nebbiolo, asparagus and duck terrine starters, beef Wellington and apple tarte tatin. All brilliantly cooked. If anything the portions were too generous! We finished every bite though because it tasted great. Had a nice chat with the head chef as we left who seems like a good hard working guy. I wish him and his staff all the best.

A nice central restaurant in the heart of Maldon. A basic menu - basically a meat and vegetarian variation of the meat dish and a couple of entrees. Nice deserts as well. We ordered 2 bottles of wine the first and I regret not saying ti the waitress that it wasn't a full bottle of wine and only 3/4 full and we were paying $66 a bottle. The wine bottle had been opened previously. Further into the night we then ordered a second bottle of the same wine which was completely full and unopened. Disappointed that we were charged for that 3/4 full first bottle.

We were really looking forward to dinner at this new little restaurant and it did not disappoint. We were greeted by friendly staff and assisted in selecting a delicious wine, feeling like we were in good hands from the outset. The menu was small but gave us the impression that the dishes were well thought out and designed with quality in mind. Everyone in our party was impressed with the food, especially our vegetarian daughter was so happy to have amazing options and thoroughly enjoyed her meal. This restaurant really is a hidden gem and deserves congratulations for reaching such high standards so quickly after opening. We will be back.

Heading out for a celebratory combination dinner for a birthday and anniversary postponed due to COVID restrictions, we loved the simple and minimalist decor of the restaurant.Being seated upstairs on a cold and rainy evening was great but Clare was very solicitous regarding the temperature when it got a bit warm after a glass or two of rosé!The steak tartare was delicious and a rare treat as not many restaurants will serve it any more, which made the birthday boy both nostalgic and extremely happy! The duck liver parfait was amazing, and in combination with the pickled cherry preserve, was a perfect way to cut some of the richness of the creamy dish.We shared the Beef Wellington mains, Cedric's signature dish, and were extremely pleased to hear that in spite of the seasonal menu changes, that one will be a staple. The smoked Parisian mash was a surprisingly light accompaniment, and perfectly complimented the melt-in-your-mouth beef fillet. The creme caramel dessert was perfectly set with a generous amount of sauce and the flavours were absolutely marvellous together, although I did find the caramel a little bitter on its own.We are already planning our next visit, well worth then drive!
