Rocket Park
The displays at the Woomera Rocket Park are looking better than ever after the recent paint work that they've received. Free to visit and with some great exhibits, this display is worth the small detour (7 kilometres on bitumen) off of the Sturt Highway at Pimba. Each of the exhibits has an easy to read information panel alongside of so you know exactly what each item is.

Very interesting, well maintained & presented. Disappointingly, both indoor museums were closed for the duration of my visit, but that's life in the outback.

An awesome piece of Australian aerospace history. Includes an example of the first rocket to make orbit from Australia and a US Redstone first stage recovered from the Simpson Desert (China or USSR style) that launched the first Australian satellite.

Great stopover to break the trip up. Fascinating to learn about the satellite launches from Aus. Public toilets accessible and caravan parking available.

Missile Park at WoomeraVisited on 4/6/2019I never thought I would be roaming among all these awesome deadly weapons and equipment exhibited in the open air.On display were planes, rockets, rocket launchers, bombs, as well as some fragments of planes and bombs housed in the fenced area.

Epic history of rocket development here, well worth the stop in to see the displays, unfortunately the museum is closed for refurbishment. Still highly recommend!
