Golden Ponds

Took the young man fishing here on a recommendation as he wanted to catch a “proper fish” and we don’t have the gear. The lady that met us in the shop wasn’t especially helpful but took our money for fishing, rod hire and bait then sent us out the back to ponds. The ponds were pretty stagnant looking, we tried 3 of them over 1.5 hours and never saw a fish let along caught one. Long miserable drive back up to Perth, I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to this place…

Stayed only 1 night. But we were pleasantly surprised at the location, the apartment and the way the booking was handled. Great place for a staycation. Huge property with lakes, cafe/bar, walk paths. Lots of caravans, ducks, birds and people enjoying themselves. Even a Shetland pony. If you're travelling around our State or want a quick weekend trip this is the place.

Came today for lunch, my husband was looking for somewhere new to try that was close to home. My husband called the day prior to book a spot for lunch. On arrival the outside grounds are BEYOND beautiful! We were welcomed by the most lovely lady who made us feel welcome instantly. She was so beautiful and kind and even took my son for a little walk around when he got fussy! Food was enjoyable and well priced. We were made to feel so special and welcome on our first experience here. We will be back!

Lovely food, good service, location a little away from public transport. Large enough facilities, the large function space decor needs updating, especially the carpet worn, marked and needs replacing along with the drapes. The grounds are lovely and plenty of the things to do. Definately go back again.

Recently stayed with our 4 month old baby after a friend's wedding in Byford.We stayed in the apartments which are always lovely, clean with a beautiful view of the lake.Always feel safe and like we are on a holiday far away from Perth. Golden ponds is a great little Oasis.

What a pathetic business. I fronted up with my family so the kids could go fishing! But due to no staff they do not have any fishing for the last few weeks! They are obviously to slack to make customers aware of the situation on their website. Kids very disappointed.

Poor level of customer service and karts/fishing rods unavailable for activities with no prior knowledge of this being the case. If things are unavailable they should be advertised as such, rather than going to the venue to find out. Left and went elsewhere, won’t be returning.

Took the family there for Sons birthday lunch. What a disappointment the food was. I had chicken parmigiana which was quite dry. Two others had the snapper which was tough like chicken. Son had the seafood platter which wasn't cheap. Now he loves seafood but didn't like what he had. To the point he didn't even take what was left home. Even the squid rings tasted just like batter.When it was brought up to the person removing plates, they didn't seem bothered.Will not be returning to eat there again

Came here to fish. Called ahead and glad I did as told to bring our own lines (pamphlet says lines for hire?) and told they had bait but got there only to be sold a can of corn and spam and it isn’t going to stay on a hook is it? Advertised you can buy a fish from the store. Store wasn’t open. Drove an hour for this experience and charged $38 for two kids an adult and a tin of spam and tiny tin of corn. Could have fished elsewhere for free and got a bite at least. If they didn’t have real bait they should have said so and we would have bought prior but the pamphlet (they have them in reception too) is totally out of date and I think we got overcharged. It should have been $20 for entry as they advertised $5 a kid up to 17yrs in the booklet they had in the reception and $10 an adult. They hold comps here and plenty of people come to fish but as a small family that wanted to come have a little experience it was underwhelming. The toilet facilities don’t even provide anything to dry your hands with.

A busy day here today but another excellent set of meals. The people serving were pleasant to deal with and were happy to accommodate some strange dietary requirements. Unfortunately the food was too good that I ate it before taking a picture but this was a succulent pork belly with chips and veg.
