Shelly Bay resort almost scored a five star rating from us. The location and position is brilliant. The staff were lovely and very friendly. Our unit was well presented and had everything we needed. However the disappointment was the bed. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and it was that uncomfortable that we actually slept onthe couch for the remainder of our stay. Apart from the bed we would highly recommend staying here. The restaurant below served delicious food that smelt amazing. A great place to stay overall.

The perfect place for a holiday. Smartly outfitted rooms with all the accessories and facilities. Directly overlooking Shelly Bay with its sandy beaches fit for a beautiful relaxing walk or exhilarating workout before breakfast. Quality restaurant within and others surrounding, again, an easy walk. Relax and enjoy in comfort.

Great location with a view of the ocean. Very comfortable stay over all. Clean and well maintained. The staff were super friendly and quick to check us in. We found it odd that we stayed in a 2 bedroom and 1 of the rooms were locked, but we didn’t need the room. There is an Indian restaurant attached to the hotel. They happen to be closed when we were visiting due to the owners being on holiday, but plenty of other places around to eat so no fuss.

Our second stay at Shelley's and we love it even more.Rooms are large, clean and comfortable.Best thing is the easy access to the beach and shopping.

Website terrible. White font on white background!! Barely loads, and direct booking page timed out. Was interested in staying but gave up in the end. Really need to sort that out or they'll keep losing potential customers.

I’d challenge anyone not to be satisfied with this property when looking for somewhere to stay on the Fraser Coast, especially Kiwis looking for an affordable piece of paradise. If the warm and friendly welcome from Donna wasn’t enough then you only have to walk 100m across the road to the waters edge for the most amazing piece of water you could be near.And yes, inside the rooms are superbly furnished and spacious right down to a free standing oven, a rarity in many properties these days. Even the finer touches like Netflix and a cable sports channel are not often found these days but we’re available here.Their own pool was incredibly clean and refreshing and if you’re a swimmer then 2k away you have the best 50m pool within miles to swim at.Food options are aplenty, so are shopping and even the Hervey Bay RSL gets a mention as somewhere to go.Can’t write much more except to say, get on over there and try this property.Thanks everyone and for the pizza recommendation.
