For someone like me who works mainly the left brain it's always refreshing to use the other half of the brain to be creative. It is the one thing I really look forward to each week as me" time. I really enjoy the company of like minded people who are encouraging and supportive. Jody and the other teachers help me develop my sculpting skills and a critical eye for details. I really enjoy my classes and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in sculpting."

Jody’s sculptures are absolutely amazing. He does a great job in covering the class material that students need help with. Jody is so kind and he always does his best to teach and encourage all students. The class environment is a great place to calmly express your creativity with no boundaries, you get to explore as many different techniques and styles as you like. Once you have made a piece you have the option of casting it in glass, bronze or resin to display proudly in your home. Jody is always so helpful and supportive of my projects and I've learned so much from his classes. Would definitely recommend Sydney Sculpture School to anybody looking to learn sculpting, it doesn't matter if you're a beginner or experienced sculptor this class is suitable for all levels of expertise.

I joined Sydney sculpture school around 5 years ago and I am totally loving it. It’s a great place to grow your creativity and enjoy the company of great talents. Jody and Ica have been my teachers over these years and they are both amazing artists. They teach you how to see the details and how to build what you see. The vibe of the class is what you need after a hard day at work, somewhere that you can relax and enjoy sculpting and it works like meditation for me.

I have been a regular at SSS for over 6 years and studied under four different teachers there. Each teacher brings their own individual experience and style to teaching their craft. I have worked in clay and wax and had several pieces cast in bronze by Jody Pawley. Jody helps students learn to see and also create their visions. You can have fun making quick studies or spend several terms on a piece. I think everyone has an inner creative side that can express itself through sculpture! I highly recommend SSS for all levels of student.

I’ve been coming to this sculpture school on and off for 15 years now. It’s a fabulous place....they give you total creative freedom and support you with their expertise to do whatever you want....bronze, glass resin. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or an experienced sculptor. There’s no pressure to perform and certainly no deadlines except your own.Sometimes it’s just a great place to achieve a state of calm and much cheaper than a shrink. If you have a very well behaved dog who will sit quietly during class they are also pet friendly. (You need to check first). Can’t recommend Sydney Sculpture School highly enough.

This school provides one on one tuition within small classes on project of my choice. The teachers are able to provide tuition across different mediums and support the direction the student wants to go in so very flexible and knowledgeable. Friendly staff and students! Besides regular classes, I have also attended great workshops provided by the school

He may look like a prize fighter, but don’t let that fool you. Inside Jody lurks a talented and skilled artist and teacher. His artistic talent is willingly shared with his students, whether it is discovering the joy of creating the first piece or helping to draw out the “voice” you have been searching for in the sculptures you create. Jody is a teacher to the new members of the class and a guide and mentor to those who are developing, or are honing, the skill they have learned, a vision shared by all teachers at the school. The skill level in the classes varies from the first night novice starting the journey to seasoned veterans, all of whom come to class to create, learn and enjoy the experience of working in a creative environment. The casting of each piece in either bronze, resin or glass is done in house so you can follow the progress of your sculpture from the block of clay to the finished piece.I have particularly enjoyed the workshops which are open to all; from Adams recent workshop turning newspaper and masking tape into sculptures to the weekend classes give by Jason Arkle when he comes to the school from his studio in Florence. There is a wealth of talent available to all who attend the classes at SSS.

The classes at the Sculpture School are fabulous - the teachers are friendly and helpful. The structure isn't as rigid as other classes, which is great as you get to explore your own style and try different techniques. If you do manage to make something worthy of keeping forever, the options of casting your masterpiece in resin, glass or bronze are reasonably priced, and Jody makes sure you are happy with the finished piece.
