Laurent Bakery Collins Place

Worst meat pie ever! Not only that, but I had foodpoisoning from eating it. It was served tepid with unappetising salad leaves. From what I could gather the pie had not been refrigerated. I would like to be refunded $14 for said pie and coffee. Please contact me.

I really appreciate the lady who is working on a day that I visit it. She let me in while they were closing the store. I just wanted a pain au chocolate, to try their Croissant. Plus as I heard they are famous for it.It’s looked great very nice and flaky. It was good but not as buttery or soft but that could be due to being bought at 3pm so not so freshAlso looked dry. Little bit but overall not bad. I definitely to give it a second try when I’m in Melbourne again.

Have passed Laurent Bakery many times, always meaning to have lunch there one day. Today we did, and it lived up to all expectations.Very very nice indeed.

Came here with family and friend, we chose to sit in the common area just outside the Laurent bakery shop lot (less than 10m away). We asked the assistant manager Alex if they can bring our food to our table. The assistant manager Alex said they don’t serve to common area and wanted us to move to their table in the shop, which was fine. We sat at their table, waited for the food to arrive and brought the food ourselves to the common area, and told them we will bring the plates back.15 minutes later, another customer sat beside us at the common area and have an order number plate from Laurent Bakery, and we saw the same lady Alex brought food out to the customer which was at the common area.The assistant manager told us that they don’t serve common area but later served food to another customer who was at the common area.We can’t help but think this is discrimination as the other customer is a Caucasian and we are Asians.The food is good but do not recommend this branch at all. The customer service is terrible.

Wonderful to stumble upon this place while exploring Collins Place. Couldn’t decide between the coffee or chocolate eclairs, so ordered both! They are both nice, but I prefer the chocolate eclair.Lovely ambience, and looking forward to try their other mini cakes soon!

This is a must visit cafe for me every time I am in Melbourne. I am absolutely addicted to their French Style Apple Turnovers. But I have tried many of their other items and they are all outstanding in taste and quality. While the location is not necessarily conducive to a relaxed cafe experience, the food is worth going there even just for some takeaway. The coffee is good but so is it elsewhere in Melbourne, so you would not go there for the coffee but the pastries alone.

Incredible selection. High prices as all boutiques are, but the cost is worth it for the quality. Fresh bread available, as well as gourmet, interesting sandwiches and all sorts of dietary options.Just be cautious to ask for prices up front as they are not displayed.Thank you to the business owner for getting in touch about my issues with pricing and temperature. 5 Stars for selection, quality and service.

Underwhelming service, telling people to sit inside when they have outside seating. Coffee comes spilt on the saucer and the cup is stained too. Cake looks better than it tastes and coffee was weak. Not recommended.

Great selection and quality of food. However my takeaway order has been incorrect on a few occasions. Today I ordered a chicken pie with a side salad but got a beef pie instead. On several occasions I’ve requested a side salad with my takeaway pie but it’s been left out the order. There seems to be a gap in communication between the person taking my order and the one preparing the order.

Shop staff was nice and cakes were not too sweet. Overall nice.
