Got some great advice on some significant sites about the mining history that the tourist advisor marked on a tourist map that we would have otherwise missed due to poor signage.

Friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to check on road conditions and give valuable advice before we set off to Mutawintji, Menindee and Mungo. Big thank you to all staff as we visited a number of times with various questions.

Pity Broken Hill could not note any milestones of the Wiljakali people. They were here for 50000 years before Europeans and only got one entry on the Broken Hill timeline! Makes me think BHP did the timeline and this is all about reaping minerals from the earth and getting rich.

Fantastic, Fun, Central, well heated, well air-conditioned. Major Chain Coffee and Tucker. Great parking for attached Vans and loaded vehicles. Proximity Electric Vehicle Charging, outdoor seating and relaxing grassed park with views of Train Museum. Great first stop to the Far West.

Nice and presentable building, and is equipped well enough to provide all the information you need. If you're lucky you might get to talk to someone who is happy to help, unlike the staff member we encountered.

This tour is temporarily suspended due to COVID however can be self-guided. Map and information pack available at the information centre and also uploaded as pictures as part of google review. A good way to navigate the CBD however maps need to be made available via the council website for download, new signs need to be installed as the original ones are worn and be sure to drop in to look at the trades hall display on the way if it is open.
