I went to buy some 290 and 90 x 45 h3 I was charged more than their website showed. I asked about the price because it was more than their site and was told if I am not happy with it I should go somewhere else" I have gone there plenty of times before and never had a issue with staff or price at the main building. But this guy was a di%#. I won't go there unless I need to."

Tradies will have their own preferences, but I'm writing this as an amateur for other non-tradies.I was a carpenter and so know what I'm looking for, and the pine and tassie oak I looked at and bought at Barrenjoey was really great; few knots, bends, warps, shakes and twists.The guys there are friendly and approachable, and pricing is clear and keen. I'm actually a lot closer to Swadlings, but I never got clear pricing out of them and what little I did get out of them was 1.5-2x that of Barrenjoey (I think they were just taking the mick because I'm not a tradie).If you're an amateur looking to knock up a dining table or something, skip Bunnings and go to Barrenjoey.

Purchased some western red cedar battens from Barrenjoey Timbers, for a gate and screening job I had.Paul and the guys were super helpful, and they have an extensive timber range.Reasonable prices and quick turnaround, too.

More of a Tradies place than a Bunnings, but very good service.
