Highly recommend Mark's approach to music tuition. My daughter started piano lessons with Mark 8 years ago and after seeing her progress and enjoyment of playing, I decided to also take lessons with him (having done lessons as a child). Mark is extremely calm, warm and incredibly supportive and encouraging. He is excellent at gauging his students learning styles and adapting his teaching techniques accordingly.He has a very practical approach to teaching practical and theoretical components of music. He presents theory in a simplistic, intuitive, and sensical way.. often I have said, I wish someone had explained it to me like that before when I was kid!...our understanding of theory has really improved, as mark explains the why, and the connection between the theory and the applicability to practice. This has enabled us to extend ourselves in our choices of pieces we play. Mark offers both academic options of lessons - exams etc, as well as recreational" teaching.
