After reading all the one star reviews, it was with considerable trepidation that I went here for fish & chips for dinner last night (19/4/23). But, I felt like f&c & was hungry. So, I decided to be brave, took a deep breath & entered.The store is suffering from wear & tear & could do with a reno but we know that’s expensive.However, the two teenagers manning the store were friendly & cheerful. I ordered the battered cod, single serve chips & two potato scallops. Sadly, no battered oysters or scratchings.It was 6:10pm & another order being processed when I arrived but mine was processed efficiently & I was on the way home by 6:25.The cod was enormous & the chips in good volume. Both were crunchy but the scallops were best. Really crunchy just like I like them. Even after the 10 min trip home.Yes, the store needs some TLC, but the food & service I experienced were both excellent.Gary HuxhamTemporary Landsboroughite

Pretty disappointed in the chips that cost us a fortune... Try actually heating the oil before dropping them, shake them to test and if it don't sound crunchy it's not done.... Then can you try actually draining them??? I paid what...?.... $11.50 for a bag of soggy, oily chips... Couldn't even get the salt right..... Id happily drop in and show you how to cook chips for FREE....

The people on the phone and serving were extremely rude but then we got our food and it was so disgusting. Everything was soggy and tasteless. Fish and scollops were stuck together. Extremely disappointment and never going back. I would vote zero stars if I could.

Just finished our very delicious fish and chips. We took them away to our caravan park, the batter was thin & crispy, the fish (snapper & cod) thick fillets and perfectly cooked, the chips were yummy, and 2 of us couldn’t finish the small $6-00 serve. The young woman who served me and cooked the food was efficient and friendly, happy to bring them outside to me. I am at a loss to understand the negative reviews.

That’s the third strike now. Absolute garbage wouldn’t feed it to the dog. Tonight 10 March ordered in shop . So how the food was luke warm and the chips soggy is mind blowing. Previous orders ( take away ) the fish was cremated and chips disgusting.My wife tried to order one night and after eventually answering the phone the staff said they were closed eventhough it was before the posted last orders time.So we are done never ordering there again as your guaranteed to be served slop unfit for human consumption

Ha ha ha what a JOKE Asked young blonde girl if she could show me roughly what size a small chips were. Her reply “na not really, it’s based on feedin 1 adult”I asked for a little demo with the hands. I received a blank stare!$6 for a small chips roughly a handful of soggy, barely cooked chips.Customer service poorChips weren’t even seagull worthy and didn’t feed the adult.

I have eaten at this shop over the years and seen it go through many owners. The current owners have done great with their theme and food choices. I only get a burger but my family always gets the fish either crumbed or grilled and love the food. The staff are friendly and polite. I definitely recommend this shop to buy your takeaway. Keep up the good work guys.

Most disgusting fish and chips I’ve ever had. I asked for chicken salt and got regular salt… about half a tub! Too salty. Went home and threw up! What a waste of $36.Wish I had read the reviews before parting with my money.

We bought over $50 worth of fish and chips here yesterday to take to the park up the road for a family lunch. I'm not exaggerating when I say the food was unedible.I have never tasted anything so disgusting everything was dripping in oil. Chips were so soggy even the kids couldn't eat it. I hadn't had brekky so I was really hungry by 1pm like the rest of the family. We managed to salvage a little of the fish pulling all the batter off. But 90% of the rest of the food went into the bin. I have 3 dogs at home but I wouldn't even take it home it was that bad. Never ever again. Also the floors were sticky and the front entrance was thick with grime. I understand buildings get old but they can be clean.

Take 2: 3 StarsI gave the place a second go having given it a while to improve. This time I got there earlier. They were open and serving. I was a little surprised they couldn’t give me an amount of chips per size but they did say how many people per serving size. I ordered a small chips and a vegan burger. I tried to pay with a large note but they said they didn’t believe they would have the change so I paid by card. 15 mins later they were ready after estimating 20-25. So that was good. The food we received was nice. The size of the chips serving seemed a little smaller than I expected but it tasted good. A little crunch and a little salt. The burger was fairly standard but I enjoyed it. The girl taking my order was friendly and proactive. The overall experience was good. I would say I’ve had better but I’ve also had worse. The price was a little higher than I’d like for what I got but it was decent. So I’m glad to upgrade my review to 3 stars. Keep it up ladies. I hope it keeps improving but it’s now worth going to.Take 1: 1 StarI was hoping to have a nice order of chips on my way home. Their sign advertises closure at 7:00pm. I arrived at 6:05pm to find the door locked. The staff were inside cleaning. I called through the window and asked if they were opening but they said they take their last order at 6:15 so they could clean. By this time it was only 6:10. I didn’t push the matter but it was disappointing. I hope their meals are better than their closing procedure. Might be worth a try but get there at least an hour before closing time.
