Glacier Rock
As a very new (and older) hiker (think couch potato this time last year) this was an incredibly challenging hike. We took about 4 hours (9kms according to FitBit) from Stoney Creek all the way to Glacier Rock and back. The track is rough - lots of rocks and rainforest tree roots to navigate. The view is awesome, but be realistic before you attempt it. Take plenty of water & snacks, take your time, and if it’s been raining think about using sticks to help you balance. We swam at the Stoney Creek causeway when we finished - felt so good to be in the cold fresh mountain water.

Great hike into the mountains, easy to start with, gets steeper but provides great views over the Barron River and down to Cairns. Time the hike correctly and you can wave to everyone on the Kuranda Scenic Railway on the bridge and see the next train crossing the bridge at Stones Creek Falls!

The walk from storey creek car park is quite steep but we’ll worth the hike.There is wn incredible view at the top that allows you to see right to the ocean over all the trees.On the hike you walk over the train tracks via a bridge so can watch the Kuranda train go by

Fantastic hike from Speewah Camp Ground to Glacier Rock. Not too challenging though quite muddy after the recent rains and well worth it for the view from Glacier Rock!

Great views of Northern Cairns general area. Good hike up the mountain from down near Lake Placid.

Great hike with stunning views. Not too challenging, you can get there in a couple of hours at a good pace.

If you don't mind a roughly 2 hour hike this place is a perfect place to relax while enjoying a great view. Best to go in winter when its cooler, even better if you do it at 4 in the morning with some torches and snacks (if you already know the trail confidently)

Really long trail, but its worth it for the view. (Bring plenty of water and snacks for the rest stop at the end).
