Great Community Hall

Nice region of Bendigo Goldfields.

Back in 1975 give or take there was a band playing in the hall on a Saturday night the band was called the London underground. The singer of this band was first cousin to Shirley strawn the lead singer of sky hooks. Sky hooks had just played at Kingwood college in Box Hill Victoria and announced that on the following day they were releasing their first single. Living in the 70s. The reset is history. Back to the hall. London underground played to a medium sized audience the next day ; as we camped next to the hall. We ventured around the lake next to the hall. We came across an old deserted two story home. Reminded me of the house in gone with the wind. As kids we ventured inside and it was apparent no one had lived there for many years. As we walked up the old timber stair case the timber caved in beneath out feet. We looked around the rest of this old amazing house. I haven't been back since 1975 so don't know if this old home still stands. But that's my memory of this old hall and it's surrounds.
