The Great British Chippy

First time trying tonight. Best fish and chips I’ve had in a very very long time. Everything we ordered was bang on. Not oily at all. Only 4 stars as we ordered 2 x snapper and chips (among other things) but only got 1 piece of fish but a quick call and they have sorted it no problems. Will definitely be returning

It’s “ok” I wouldn’t rave about it much. it’s expensive compared to others and although they ask a lot about customisation of how your chips is cooked and seasoned, it didn’t come out that way.Hake and chips with a side of calamari for $28.00. I’ll be frank $12.50 for one piece of Hake, that’s pretty overpriced. The calamari were probably thawed and flash fried because they were not warm at all and chewy. When asked if I wanted regular or crispy chips, I said crispy and they came out soggy and soft.Staff are polite and it’s a great location. Maybe needs a little boost in the kitchen

I’ve only given one star as I can’t give zero I’ve never tasted fish and chips so bad. First and last time ever ordering from here. Cold stale chips, dry over battered fish that was most certainly not snapper. Can’t believe this measly amount cost $29.

Customer service is really friendly and very attentive. Old British service. Wish they had service like this everywhere.They got my order wrong but I didn't check before paying. Ordered the pepper squid, they charged for squid rings and I got squid rings. They were fresh and crispy. But I didn't want the rings. Will check more carefully next time.The fish burger was super hot so watch out you don't burn your tongue like my other half did. Really fresh fish and good too.Outdoor sitting area and indoor dining available. Takeaway available as well. Its nicely decorated.Parking is a struggle. Too small for the amount of shops in the area.

I think the cod might have spent the last 6 months in a leaky boat. First and last time I ever buy from here. All the flesh on all the fish was dry, the batter was soggy and fell straight off the fish. I ordered the British chips and even asked the girl to cook them well done all I got was one big gluggy spud. $90 for this just wowwww.

Ordered the Snapper & chips for one, dine in.The restaurant is freezing with aircon belting out into the 18 degree afternoon.Service is good, not busy.Fish is tough and batter is falling off & not very nice. How do you get tough & dry fish?Was hot, but going cold quickly because of the aircon.Chips are pretty bad, lots of ends & dark bits on the chips. I ordered crunchy, but dont know where that went.Good points.Place is clean. Service is polite.Gave me a free tartar sauce.

Phoned in, got told 30minutes got there and it was very busy so can understand the delay in service but the staff looked very frustrated and disorganised. I think they forgot about our order and quickly made it. Giving 3 stars because the food was cooked OK. Just OKJust really disappointed with the size of the serving $27 for tiny bit of fish and soggy chips
