Horsetail falls
Epic waterfall just outside of Queenstown. Great during or after rain. There is a dirt track / boardwalk with great views. There's also a small parking bay on the main road that has views across to the waterfall.

It was cold and windy so we didn’t bother doing the walk, the falls did have a good flow, and could be seen from the road.

It's not a big walk a little bit steep and might not see the water flowing from the waterfall in summer but it was nice quiet and relaxing. Very unique path insaustralia

We did the walk just after rain and the falls were flowing. The falls with water or not are nothing to get excited about. However the boardwalk and the views getting there are really worth the effort. if in the area don't miss it. also check out the iron blow lookout across the road while there.

really liked this walk! it’s super short and it was easy for me. i love how the board walk makes the access super easy. it’s recommended that you go check out the waterfall after a big rain but when we went it was still really cool and hadn’t been raining recently

Horsetail falls
The horsetail falls is pretty small from here but the walk itself is really nice. Came during summer and the weather was just on point! Easy ten minutes walk to see the falls but if there's no rain you probably won't see anything. Easy walk.

Pretty waterfall come down the mountainside. The walkways to the viewing area from the carpark are well maintained, and the views are stunning. It's a pity you can't get closer, but still worth a stop over on the way through.

Nice path up the mountain. Pretty long - especially when there is nothing to be seen at the end. When we were there, there was not water. Hence no water fall. But then again it was one of the hottest days in Tasmania last year.

Highly recommend stopping here. Very windy drive up from Queenstown but worth it for the beautiful view. The walk isn't too bad, we did it with two young kids but don't attempt if you don't like heights.
