Alexandra Hotel

Rude staff. Not family friendly. After a day of travelling we decided to stop by for dinner. We were made to feel unwelcome and bothersome for trying to eat at the bistro at around 5:30 on a Monday night without a booking. It was just me and my two children, and the staff member begrudgingly gave us her last table despite the bistro being near empty. We will not return and will not recommend to anyone passing by. Go elsewhere.

We came on bank holiday Sunday today and the staff were under the pump. Despite that they were super welcoming, accommodated us and the food was lovely. Thank you so much for your hospitality :)

Booked a table online while in the UK. Received automatic confirmation followed up by email. When we arrived, we decided to sit outside to watch the sun set in the distance. The garden looks over trees and the railway line. We couldn't really see them but the mountains are in the distance. The hotel looks lovely and ooses heritage. Staff were friendly. We ordered spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread pizza and glasses of red wine. Food came quickly, was hot and tasty and the price was reasonable too. If we stayed in Leura again, I think I'd stay in the hotel..

been going to this pub probably for 28yrs, i think this is the last time.Got the meat pie for lunch ($25) looked nice, had small amount of mash no salad, no chips, cut into the pie and i recon 3/4 of the inside was gravy, filled my plate with liquid, hardly any meat at all and what were tiny chunks, for $25 you would expect something better than that. All i could taste was gravy. Food has gone down hill so much i wont be going back. (not the first time i have had rubbish food there, thought i would give it one last time). Many locals around the area have also had the same issue with the food and have also started telling their friends not to go, what a waste of a pub, it used to be so good. clearly relying on the tourists who dont know how bad it is.

Update (June): Have eaten here twice in recent weeks, since the Update below. Sadly, the menu has changed and in my opinion is not as varied and interesting as previously. Meal timing has also gone backwards. On one occasion, for a party of six, the last meal arrived a good 25 minutes after the first. On another occasion, for a party of five, I was was half way through my fish & chips before the next meals arrived. That's not really good enough so I'm afraid the rating has to go down. Staff still lovely but someone needs to lift their game.Update: 14 of us had lunch here on Saturday (11/3) for a family celebration. My Prawn Pasta was delicious and everyone was happy with their meals. Still highly recommended for great pub meals.Have eaten here at least three or four times over the last 6 months. Great food, great atmosphere, all at reasonable prices. Pizzas are very good as are the other the menu items - eg fish 'n chips, the various pastas. Blackboard items always changing. Best of all, staff are lovely.

Tonight, on my way to Sydney, I stopped by Alexandra Hotel in Leura with some friends for a quick dinner, and I was impressed by the exceptional customer service. The chef, Mira, was superb, and the food was divine. We shared a few dishes, and they were all deliciously flavored. I highly recommend this place for its great vibe and fabulous food.

Ate at the pub, the pizza was incredible. We weren’t expecting much, and we were so impressed with the food. After being turned away at every restaurant because we didn’t have a reservation (they were all very rude about it), this was a nice option for us to enjoy a relaxed meal without any snooty-ness. Will definitely be back.

Great pub just outside of Leura serving traditional pub meals in beautiful surroundings, both in and outside.Can easily cater for larger groups. We were 24 and all got served at the same time. The food was plenty, delicious and well served.

Stopped in for lunch and a pint as we heard the pizza was good. Upon entering we received no welcome or greeting but we’re told there was only a limited menu available. Immediately we felt as though f the tall blond woman behind the bar would prefer if we left. We didn’t and I ordered a pint and a pizza then the rest of our group ordered theirs. There were 4 of us in total. We sat out back on the patio, and 3 pizzas were delivered. One server informed me mine would be right out. The group wanted some chilli flakes so as I wasn’t eating I went inside to ask. As I walked past the pizza oven I noticed there were no pizzas being cooked. I asked about my order and the tall blond woman started telling me I didn’t order the 2 for 1. I looked at a menu and said I had ordered this pizza. She continued to argue back and forth with me telling me it was my fault. I stated I had ordered this beer, pointing at the tap and that pizza pointing at the menu. She checked the order on the screen, her facial expression changed and she said I remember you, I’ll get your pizza going right now. I thanked her for that and asked another staff member if they had chilli flakes. She looked startled and said they did not. At no time did any staff come by to see if our meal was satisfactory or if we wanted anything further to drink. I suggest the owner spend a bit and time with the staff on some customer service training, sales would no doubt improve dramatically.
