Came here in much anticipation giving we've walked past many times. I read the reviews and thought I may as well go here for dinner with the family. The kids meals were disappointing - no calamari all mains other than pasta was served with chips. They has pasta with cheese and butter as a kids meal option but for $15! Like seriously. We asked for a kids portion of calamari with veggies and they accommodated this - charged us $18 each for this. Given it was with veggies and not deep fried chips, it was worth it to us but still overpriced. The garlic bread was disappointing as hell - at $8 it was just toast with something that resembled herb butter, no garlic. Watch my video of this. The seafood basket (was a special and not on their regular menu) was decent. So was the crab penne but was too expensive in my opinion. I do recommend those as options though if you're dining here.Service was dismal which was surprising given the restaurant was at 20% occupancy at best. We waited 50min to get the garlic bread! Given what we got, they probably ran to Woolies or Coles to buy a loaf of toast bread. A tiny round slice of lemon was provided which is terrible - couldn't squeeze this so it was more for aesthetics rather than function.Come again? Probably not. Over priced, poor service , disappointing kids menu.

3.6 - I popped in here for lunch to support this brand new restaurant. I splurged on a grilled whole snapper ($34), which came with chips and salad. Be careful with the Snapper, especially people with children, because it has quite a few little bones. The flesh was good though - falls off the bones, although a little dry. It has some kind of sauce in parts of it. The salad was a little lack lustre but the proportion of fish, chips and salad was good for what I wanted. Whacked with a Sunday surcharge as well as a Payment surcharge of $4. I didn't see any notice of this but thought to warn you all. Average experience, rather expensive though.

Really great mix of seafood, and all of good quality. Unassuming location but the food was great and we were well taken care of by the staff. Mixed platter was huge, and everything very tasty.

Thought we would give this place a go walking past. Got takeaway for my wife, brother, sister in law and the kids. Ordered 2 x battered fish, calamari and fried prawn cutlets, and all came with chips. In total $69.As soon as it was ready, we were all set to tuck in at the fountain right next to the restaurant whilst it was still fresh. From the moment we opened the boxes, all of us were shocked at the very small portion sizes, especially the chips! Which would have been no more than a small handful underneath each option...and they looked very sad. (Pale and soggy)At this point, i'd already gone back to the let the staff know we were very disappointed for what they charge. They did offer another side of chips, but they what we got did not look appetising so i didn't want more of it.Note the young bloke at the counter was very friendly, and i felt bad delivering the less than positive feedback.Went back to the group, and the consensus on how the food tasted; Fish was not bad, calamari was tough, prawns were not good. Everything though was extremely oily.Know this place hasn't been there long, but they won't be there long at all if they don't make serious changes. What was served up for the price was very disappointing and whoever owns it should be embarrassed.(Photos missing the fried prawn cutlets, and photos were taken before anyone had anything)

So dissapointed, food was dry and service was super slow. 30 minutes for dry mushrooms, spinach, oil soaked chips. Over priced. Bread was soaked in butter and seemed stale.Waiter was real good though. Only real higlight.

Our experience at Crusty Crab Seafood Restaurant in Top Ryde was nothing short of a disaster. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this establishment was not living up to its promise of offering live, fresh seafood. The service was slow and inattentive, and the children's fish dishes were overcooked and bland. We thought we would splurge and try the hot & cold seafood platter for two, but we were regretful of this decision almost immediately. The price tag alone was outrageous, and the quality of the seafood was abysmal. The prawns had a strong, rancid smell reminiscent of rotten bait, the mini crab emitted an overpowering ammonia-like scent, and the cooked Moreton Bay bag was so rotten that my dining companion nearly vomited upon ingestion. In fact, the only edible item on the platter was the hot chips. We were shocked and appalled by the poor quality of the seafood served at this establishment, and we were relieved that we did not have to pay for the inedible platter. It is unacceptable to serve customers such disgusting and potentially harmful food. We strongly advise others to stay far away from Crusty Crab Seafood Restaurant in order to avoid any potential food poisoning and to ensure a satisfactory dining experience. This restaurant is a complete disaster and we will never be returning.

The amount of food was so good, big portions of chips , they have a fast service and polite staff, quality if the food was great too, location is amazing with nice outdoor and indoor sitting area, we enjoyed it so much, prices are not bad and reasonable too. Most importantly, the shop wasn't smelled, and this was great

First time giving review because it was such a huge disappointment. Ordered soft shell crab burger and seafood bucket. The burger was poorly made and definitely not worth the price. Seafood bucket was 35$ and all of them are cooked from frozen packs. They call themselves seafood restaurant so we expected the dish from fresh. Paid 65$ for such a quality of food.

Delicious crepes for a late breakfast, early lunch. Plating of food was excellent. Kids were delighted. Accommodated special request with no issues. Coffee also very nice, a little on the sweater side but just what we needed.
