Makesafe Roofing called me Mon 13 July 2020 to let me know that the scaffolding would be setup and that the roofing supplies would be delivered on Wed, and that work would commence on Thu and would be completed on Fri, weather permitting. Everything was delivered on Wed, but nobody showed up to start work Thu morning, even though the weather had been perfect all week. Nobody called me either. After lunch, I called Clint the project manager to see what was going on. He proceeded to tell me that because of poor weather the previous 2 weeks, jobs are being pushed out and that they wouldn’t be starting work until the following Mon or Tue. I asked him why they did not schedule the delivery for a later date in that case, to which he responded that they can’t predict the weather and that if they delayed their deliveries, they’d never get any work done. This made no sense to me, because if they were already aware of the fact that the poor weather was pushing out jobs prior to calling me on the Mon about the delivery, then they could have easily arranged for a later delivery. What they are doing here is using the end clients property as temporary storage with total disregard for the inconvenience it’s causing and the fact that it’s going to destroy the lawn and block the driveway. When the following Mon arrived, they didn’t show up for work and nobody called me. I had to contact Clint again and ask him when they would commence work, he said “works will not be commencing today due to rescheduling from the past 2 weeks of poor weather”. After speaking with ABC Group, the mob my insurance company hired to fix my roof who then in turn hired MR to fix my roof, I was told they’d be starting on Wed. They did show up on Wed, but not until late arvo, and all they were literally doing was moving some of the insulation rolls from on top of the metal sheets on our lawn onto our roof. They were surprised when I caught them doing it. 5 minutes later, they had left and the insulation rolls were back on top of the metal sheets on our lawn. In other words, they felt the need to “make an appearance” of some sort on Wed to either “please us” or “please ABC Group”, I don’t really know, either way, it was very dodgy behaviour. They showed up early Thu morning to commence work on the roof and finished on Fri afternoon. I then went into my roof as I’d heard them dropping things all over the ceiling, and no doubt, it was covered in all sorts of rubbish. I called MR about this, and I wasn’t surprised at all when David told me that this was the first time anyone had called them about such an issue, meaning, they’re simply used to leaving their mess on peoples ceilings with no intention of cleaning it up (because it’s hidden from your sight, so why should they bother right).2 weeks later, no one had bothered to show up and clean the mess off our ceiling. Additionally, there was a gap in the insulation all the way down the ridgeline, most likely because this is the way management says for it to be done as a standard. We had to get ABC Group to inspect the roof themselves before we were able to get MR back out here to fix the insulation, secure it in place, and clean up their mess. ABC Group also discovered that one of the ridge cappings on the roof was the wrong size, which meant a lot of the screws had missed the batten and it was not secured in place properly. This had to be fixed too.MR are used to walking all over the end client in order to make life easier for themselves. They’ll leave their deliveries on your property and won’t show up to start work until it suits them, and if you confront them about it, they have a bunch of excuses waiting for you because this is how they do things all the time. According to them, this is how the building industry operates (yes, they actually said that to me). To be clear, the roofers themselves were nice guys, it’s the management that needs replacing.

Makesafe removed our damaged roof and fitted a whole brand new roof for us. The crew that were sent to complete our job were amazing and so respectful of our home. Communication from start to finish was great from Dave and Ritchie from Makesafe. Highly recommend this company - I would give more than 5 stars if I could

For me, it was a real stroke of luck to have Make Safe Roofing on the job. I could not be more pleased with the job they did.I am in a position to judge the real professionalism of Make Safe Roofing because I had a very bad experience when, through an Insurance claim for hail damage, the replacement house roof and workmanship of another company left me with a roof that two local qualified plumbers condemned.Fortunately, my Insurance Company finally agreed to give the second replacement roof job to Make Safe Roofing. In contrast to my previous experience right from the beginning I knew the names of people involved, their contact numbers; procedure was spelt out in an email and there were lots of signs that my job was going to be well managed by David and to my delight it really was. I saw great competence in Jim and Matt and when others were there, I observed a friendly, co-operative spirit, high quality workmanship; always attention to detail and good follow-up. Questions were answered well, all the people I interacted with were courteous, thoughtful and very caring.I did not expect to receive an email with compressed zip files of my new roof photos but Carla really made my day. Generally, I don’t write reviews to be uploaded as I keep a low profile on the Internet, however, I have made an exception in this case because Make Safe Roofing deserves the highest commendation. It is, in my opinion, a very well-managed business with highly competent and well-trained people who care about the job.

If you’re considering having a new roof installed and you’re looking for expert advice, you would be absolutely crazy not to get Dave Sawtell come and give you his expert advice. Down to earth person. A wealth of knowledgeable. Cares more about the customer than the almighty dollar. A true genuine company. I could write an essay as to why you should use this company. But do you own research their QBCC license is squeaky clean and they are as reputable as they come. Once again thank you Dave Sawtell, you’re as honest as they come!

Fantastic to Work with, great communicators and went above and beyond in coordinating with the asbestos company to remove the existing roof prior to their work commencing. Very competitive in pricing, would highly recommend.

These guys are great. We got a lot of quotes and not only were they very competitively priced, they were by far the most responsive and followed up with us regularly. Dave is so lovely and was really pleasant to deal with, as was Dan and Carla. They completed the job within the day to a high standard and we are so happy with the roof. Would highly recommend for a stress free roofing experience.

Absolutely disgraceful from start to finish. Now having another roofing company come and fix there rubbish work.Nothing safe about the corner cutting unqualified hungover workers.Working at 6.6 m with no safety harnesses or edge protection/ scaffolding.Rubbish left every where to cut yourself open on.Do not even think of using this company.

NEVER use this company. The installers damaged a roofing sheet prior to install and tried to hammer it out. It is hammered out from the underside and was STILL installed. Clearly damaged prior to install. The company will not honour their 10 year workmanship warranty. Very disappointing! This is a direct email quote from the company…“This will not be fixed under Makesafe Roofing workmanship warranty. This roof was installed over two years ago and our staff do not install damaged roof sheets”No one has taken off a roof sheet since the install. I would have at least expected a response that was more considerate. Not blatant denial. Now they are trying to be ‘helpful’ by referring me to QBCC since I wrote a bad review.
