Such a welcoming place. I felt very at ease.Very friendly and experienced Vet. Infact I booked my cats in to board there for a long weekend. Impressed with the Pet insurance I signed up for whilst on my first visit. Highly recommend.

Took our young pup in for his 16 week appointment. The vet was great, gave him lots of pats and made it a good experience. Our puppy didn’t want to leave! Like that they offer “happy visits” where you can drop in for your dog to get pats and treats from staff to create a positive association with the vet - a great initiative.

This was my first visit to Blackburn vet and the vet I was initially booked in to see was running a little behind, so Terry decided to see us so that we wouldn't have to wait. Terry was friendly and informative, and I immediately felt at ease and comfortable trusting him with the care of my precious cat. He was also aware of the cost of the care we require and talked to me about an insurance program that immediately paid for itself and kept our out of pocket expenses reasonable. They also had a sign at the desk with a candle asking people to talk quietly and respectfully as when the candle is lit, someone is saying goodbye to their beloved companion. I thought this a really beautiful touch and demonstrated that Blackburn Vet understands how important fur babies are to their families.

Been going here for a few years now. It's always been quite nice, my dogs are nervous and the vets and nurses are always very respectful of my dogs anxieties. They always take my worries and concerns seriously. The other week my dog tore her ACL and they got my dog into an appointment very easily and surgery was the next day. They were very understanding afterwards when I was worried about infection (not infected, I'm just paranoid). My dog is now on day 11 and I cannot believe how well she is doing and how well the incision is healing. I have had bad experiences with dog surgery in the past and this is by far the best I've had. The whole team has just been amazing and Dr Terry has done such a beautiful job on my baby's leg. I also really appreciate that they have done what they can to reduce costs and I highly recommend the Best for Pets program.

DO NOT GO TO THIS VETWe attended this vet 3 times, and all 3 times our dogs were misdiagnosed. The first couple of times we went we were told that the issue was not serious and told that the dog had worms, we wormed them with a special overpriced treatment and the dogs recovered, however we found out later they did not have worms. The third time we went we were very suspicious about the vet and were taking everything with a grain of salt. Dog presented with repeated vomiting, loss of appetite, and lethargy we were very worried about her and took her to the emergency vet (who could not run tests cheap and were confident that waiting would not harm the dog but if the symptoms were still occurring after 24 hours we needed to take her to our regular vet) and followed up with a regular appointment at the blackburn vet when the symptoms re-occured 2 days later.. Again we were told it was worms and given overpriced medication.there was no improvement at all in the dog. Eventually we got very lucky and she vomited up a huge hairball type mess.. 20 minutes later she was fine. Our dog absolutely could have died to this if she didn't manage to bring it up. We have since changed vet.

Quiet area, a little like a maze to get in to park, need to fix existing, it scrapes the Front guard. Has skin checks! Mark is thorough and is informative, kind and makes you feel comfortable. Doctors are great, receptionist are very welcoming and helpful.

On Thursday 2 March 2023, one of my two elderly puppies was “put to sleep” due to untreatable illness.15 years rago, if someone had told me that two puppies would be sleeping with me ………………………..I would have scoffed!!!!!I am a disabled pensioner who leads an isolated lifestyle, however I was never lonely due to both my puppies. They made me laugh when they played, fought with each other, stealing food from each others’ bowl.Teddy watched TV and interacted by barking T fighting actors, or any animals from the smallest to the largestTeddy and Joshie, my other puppy knew where to lie against my body when I had extreme pain. They comforted me when I was sad,I was wanted and responsible for the two members of my family..I would not be walking, they gave me strength during my surgeries, chemotherapy, spinal nerve blocks, and distressing times. Each morning I walked them using my mobility walker, Both loved their walks, and Ted’s poodle ears flopped as he jumped through the grass.Teddy was a loyal & protective elderly “puppy”.It’s now Monday morning. I have missed him every minute.=======================Thursday 2/03/2023, at 9:30pm, Joshie barked me from a deep sleep. Teddy was floppy like a rag dollThroughout the night I gave Teddy 2 mls per half hour through his teeth & I roused him.In the morning I put Teddy in his mink blanket, then a basket and in my mobility walker. We arrived at Blackburn Vet.===========================Dr.Terry (VET. ) examined “Teddy”, my much loved RSPCA rescue dog, adopted 14 years ago.I went for a walk while Teddy had blood tests and a x-ray to diagnose his illness. When Dr Terry phoned to give me the bad news, I walked back to the vet with my mind going a thousand miles an hour.I was directed into another consulting room, and Dr Terry further explained how very ill my Teddy was. There wasn’t any treatment for TeddyTeddy was carried to me and I wrapped him I. The mink blanket. One of the staff members took a photo of us, & in them Teddy looked healthy. My darling dog then quietly fell asleep . I don’t know how long I cradled Teddy.Eventually I placed him on the table, wrapped my arms around his body & sobbed.I don’t know how long I sobbed into Teddy’s body, I lost track of time.Eventually I covered his body with a blanket, but left him on the side he preferred, and his head uncovered.I left my darling, much loved “partner in crime”.My heart is broken====================••••THE BLACKBURN VET STAFF:—————————————————-I GIVE THEN FIVE STARS FOR THE CARE THEY GAVE BOTH TEDDY AND I.They were fabulous and caring. Both Vet. Nurses and Dr Terry must deal with many people like myself. They let me grieve.A taxi was called, and walked me to the taxi.I wasn’t functioning well.I cannot speak highly enough regarding the staff who cared for Teddy and I.Grieving is such a personal reaction, and I did not realise that I would “ absolutely lose it”.The fear of living without Teddy, and my sense of loss became real.=============================Dear Blackburn Vet staff, thank you from my heart for the care Teddy and I were give. On Thursday 2 March 2023.You were exceptional to Teddy and I.In a past life I worked in Palliative Care, and I understand the difficulty in working with grieving family members.

For people that have just adopted pets for the first time, it can be very overwhelming having to manage the changes especially when your pet is sick. The staff here are extremely helpful and will call you to check up on your pet. Additionally, our vet Dr Emily offered to write down the instructions for the things we needed to do while our pet was sick in addition to showing us helpful techniques such as putting on an E collar and making sure it doesn't slip off.

I took my dog for an annual vaccine and checkup here recently. I was greeted by a young Asian female vet. She started off trying to check my dog’s teeth and as soon as he growled she jumped back and seemed very scared. I told her he gets nervous and asked her to bring a mussel, but she suggested to bring him to the back and do the vaccine with I agreed. 10 minutes later, my dog came back out and I was told it’s all done and I can leave. Hang on, what about the check up? She also responded with, “ it’s done“, so I asked what did you do, she couldn’t respond and said I should consider a dental clean for my dog as there was tartar build up and purchase some sedation medicine to give to my dog prior to his next consultation.I was very unhappy with the service provided or I should say no service provided. I was not given information as to what checkup was done, and even when I asked, she could not tell me what she did, couldn’t even lie. The vet did not try to make the dog feel a little bit comfortable before consultation; eg. give him a treat or a pat, no nothing. I felt like I just went and paid $250 for nothing. The most irresponsible vet ever, just care about making money.I definitely DO NOT recommend taking your dog here.
