Dropped my bike to hadleys Newcastle for its first complementary free service (place of purchase)I brought up a few issues I had notice why riding the bike such as front wheel slightly buckled rear wheel bearing had movement and how it 5th gear was not engaging properly.Staff was good on arrival I left it with them and told I’d get a call when it’s done,1 hour later got a call to say it was all done. When I pick up the bike in the afternoon I was simply given the bike with no explanation to what they had done, and nothing about the issues I had brought up.When I got to my car I notice all the issues I had raised with them were still present and nothing had been done. It left me questioning what had actually been done.I went back in and questioned staff about the issues and what had been done. I was then told to wait why they address the issues , 10 minutes later and told it was all done.Got home and noticed the chain is still covered in mud and very dirty, and the issues where still presentIn all it was a waste of time, a poor experience and will be taking my bike elsewhere in the future

Bernard the salesman is just rude only interested in taking your money. He does not care about anything beside pushing a sale

These guys have no idea what's going on.My partner took his bike in for repair. Hadn't heard anything for 2 weeks. Called to see what's going on. Was told they had to order a part and it hadn't arrived and was told not to call again.Fast forward 2 months, haven't heard anything so call and ask what's going on. Told the part had been sitting there and they'll get the bike fixed.Show up to pick the bike up, was told that the part showed up 3 days after it was ordered. Was charged an extra $70 for labor that was not given in the quote. Just ridiculous.2 months!, ridiculously bad customer service and communication. It's really not hard but they make it look hard.

Had a good range of bikes but not allowing customers into the store (their decision to reduce covid risks - so they'd good)But asking them to bring a bike out seemed onerous. When the wrong model was retrieved the salesman states 'its roughly the same anyway so you can get the idea'. When I requested to see the correct model it was brought but it seemed slightly ask. Ended up buying the bike but not from here after that experience.

Hadley Cycles has been a well-known name for many years and one makes the assumption they are bicycle experts.I got a flat tyre on my e-bike and checked Hadley Cycles’ website to see if they could help. Their website proudly announced they can repair and support any pedal-powered device. I phoned and asked if I could bring my bike in and they enthusiastically told me yes, bring it over, we will check it, etc. - no caveats given or questions asked. When I arrived the guy was fairly rude when he saw it was an e-bike. “It would have helped if you said it was an e-bike” and “I will see if anyone is interested in helping you.” He took it out the back then returned and said nobody was interested in helping me. He again criticised me for not telling them in advance it was an e-bike.Well, F you, rude man. If he had said “oh, I am sorry, we don’t support e-bikes” I might have been disappointed but would have accepted that. However blaming the customer when their own website clearly says “we support ALL pedal-powered devices” was both unfair and rude. Ultimately, the attitude was not one of customer service or even general politeness.I suppose the lesson is prolific advertising does not mean a company is an expert. In this situation, it’s quite clear Hadley Cycles is not an expert in all manner of cycles, clearly has no “interest” in supporting all manner of cycles, and most definitely not support and repair ALL pedal-powered devices. I urge them to change their website to specify they only deal in conventional bicycles. So, I took my bike across the driveway to Cheeky Bikes and they said they’d help. They said they couldn’t get to it straight away but I was happy to leave it with them. The contrast in attitude was stark. As well as correcting their website I would encourage Hadley Cycles to think about how it communicates. Don’t tell a customer it’s their fault if you don’t know how to fix something. Instead simply say you can’t help and let everyone move on.EDIT: you can tell a company culture comes from the top. In this case the reply below from the owner simply affirms the arrogance that myself and other reviewers noted. As to your question, no, the technician declared you don’t do anything with e-bikes. It was nothing to do with the brand at all (a high quality brand btw.)However, I do stand corrected and apologised for misquoting the website. Ironically it was a competitor of yours whose website said they support and service any pedal-powered device.Nevertheless my point still remains that I phoned in advance, was told to come by, then treated rudely because your own people evidently have limited experience in modern evolutions of bicycles and do not have the inclination to want to learn or work on something new.For you to claim my disappointment and exasperation in the poor way I was spoken to means you were right to treat me that way is a marvel of deflection. Why not put your effort into winning customers over. Imagine if your people spoke better to customers and we weren’t having this back-and-forth eh?

Congratulations to Hadley Cycles for amazing customer service! I required a replacement part. It appeared I'd have to wait weeks given the supply chain challenges. But no, the team at Hadley's moved heaven and earth to find the part with essentially no delay. The caring attitude of Mr Brett Hadley was amazing; he went out of his way to call numerous parties to locate a rare spare, courier it and now I'm back on the road. And he rang me the day after the fitting to check all was in good working order. Can't beat that folks!

Very poor workmanship. I recently purchased a new Giant Roam from this store, and my assumption that I could jump on and ride it straight away, was incorrect apparently.1. Both tyres way under-inflated. Around 15 psi.2. Front shifter only works if you click it beyond number 2. As a result, at the start of my ride, the chain jump off and then got jammed.I will not be taking it back to the store as it is quite far from my home, and I know for sure it will somehow be my fault, that I did not do a full inspection before going for a ride.I will not be returning for my annual check-up. Rather watch some YouTube and DIY. Such is the era we now live in.I will NOT be returning to this store ever again.
