Mutton Hole Wetlands Conservation Park
Mutton Hole is a wetlands accessible by 2WD, in the dry, but would only use 4WD after rain. We saw Crocs - actually saw one kill, play with, and eat an Ibis (from a safe distance). The birdlife was awesome. Well worth spending a late afternoon here.

Lots of brolgas, easy access from highway. Just outside Normanton, , though even after the wet season it was unusually dry, bird lovers would love it

A very pretty area filled with water lilies and several different types of birds adjacent to a good free camp area..permit required and available from Normanton info centre close by.

Nice place for photography or bird watching. Many species of bird as well as kangaroos and lizards seen. Good for a short walk. Nice to listen to the birds when there isn't traffic.

This space is massive. While it is currently quite dry it still held an array of birds for my birdwatching husband including Saras cranes, brolgas and a jabiru....would be an incredible sight full of water
