When coming to this restaurant, the first thing that comes to mind is that it's hard to find the restaurant. The front entrance is gated off towards what looks to be a lawn bowls club and tavern. It's only when you walk through the gates can you see the entrance to the restaurant on the left hand side. Even then, there's no clear signage to show the name of the restaurant. The restaurant itself has an indoor and outdoor section. The indoor section has a low ceiling and surrounded by glass sliding doors / windows. The problem with this is that it gets incredibly noisy when there's a full house. It makes speaking to people on the same table a bit of a shouting match. We came in a group of 7 and ordered the crispy skin roast duck, Hainan chicken, stir fried beans, prawns & rice vermicelli pot, bak kut teh, beef brisket pot, and fried sticky rice. The best of the dishes in my opinion was the crispy skin roast duck. The duck was very tender and succulent and cooked to perfection - a quality that is sometimes hard to find in Chinese restaurants in Brisbane. The beef brisket was also very soft and tender. The Hainan chicken was not authentic as it did not come with the traditional ginger & shallot dipping sauce, nor did the chicken feel like it was marinated with the traditional sources. Nevertheless, the chicken itself was cooked very well and was soft and tender.Service was relatively good considering it was so busy. I believe we may have ordered some dishes that might not ordinarily be on the main menu as we managed to ask the manager for any special dishes and we were recommended several dishes.Parking was a little difficult to find despite a carpark right in front of the precinct. The restaurant shares the precinct with a tavern which may explain the carpark being so full.Overall, I would definitely recommend this place however I would probably prefer to sit outside the next time.

A group of 10 attended tonight a bill worth $250+ and charged us 80 cents for a glass of ice. Won't be going back there and won't recommend it either. We also had to ask for water, and wine glasses and only 6 of us had wine but we were charged for 10 of us. Very small inside, noisy couldn't hear each as it was so noisy. No atmosphere.

Decent servings, decent food and nice atmosphere. Although, the food tasted more Chinese than Malaysian.Bangkok fish and duck salad were especially good!

Lunchtime meal was as good as the evening meal. Banquet at $45 was good value, but I doubted I could eat that much. So we went individual orders, and that averaged $37.90 for entre, main with: shared plates of Singapore noodles + fried rice. Most utensils and crockery is dated, but they are moving soon, and would assume new everything in the new location.Lunchtime weekdays is definitely they time to eat. Still very good food and relatively quiet

LOVE LOVE LOVEMy grandpa recommended this restaurant and we are so glad we went, we all called it a hidden gem ! The restaurant was so accommodating, we forgot to make a booking but they still let us eat. Food came out super quick and was the BEST MALAYSIAN WE HAVE EVER HAD !! It was hot and so good. My brother who doesn't like trying new food tried everything, which he doesn’t ever do 10/10 recommend definitely should try ❤️

I was treated so rudely by the female manager i will not return. This was our first takeaway order with the new Kennys Malay Kitchen. We miss the old Ipo Satay who valued our business. I am so disappointed with the lack of customer service from a new restaurant and especially by the boss lady"

We have unfortunately experienced this restaurant at their previous location at the Moana Park Bowls Club bowls club and now they have relocated to Mermaid Waters - again reluctantly I purchased. so, called Malaysian food - which was disgusting to say the least - we have lived in Malaysia and Singapore for over 20 years and what is being offered is no way near what authentic Malaysian and or Singaporean food really tastes like - it's all tailored to suit the Australian appetite - no flavor, gross ingredients and outrageous costs + if you pay by credit or debit card you are then hit with a surcharge. This place is a rip off and a joke.

I have been to this restaurant 2 one for dine in and one for take out and it was so amazing the lady’s that was here they where so kind and I love the food and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for good food and I will be going there again. The food portions was so big me and my family didn’t have anything to eat all day and we still had to take some home it was so good.

WARNING WARNING WARNING.I warn anyone considering dining at this restaurant to reconsider another venue. The owner Tracey and her family are the rudest human beings I've encountered. Last night they berated, abused, swore very venomously at all of our guests including a six year old child. This woman has the worst customer service that I have ever encountered. We attempted to celebrate an 86th birthday with approximately 20 guests.Never going back to receive her rude and appalling behaviour and customer service. We will be making a formal complaint today at the local police station as she threatened us.I wish you good luck, you need it.

Absolutely fabulous food. We were sorry to hear that Kenny was no longer going to be at Broadbeach Waters. We had the pleasure of being at Kenny's for his last night at the Bowls Club. We always ate at Kennys when he operated at Mermaid Waters and then followed him to Broadbeach Waters. We will definitely be following him to his next restaurant when it opens, that is how good Kennys food is. The staff are so warm and welcoming and we wish Kenny all the best for the future and can't wait to visit him in his new Mermaid Waters restaurant.
