The Old Butter Factory at Springhurst Estate

Wow what a beautiful place to be. Accommodation is gorgeous, the type of place you could live in permanently! Loved sitting in the garden with the peacocks & geese wandering around. Really nice hosts too.

Awesome little place to stay! Accommodation was cosy pity, we couldn't light the wood fire would have made it better. Shower was hot and strong. Pity there isn't any eateries in springhurst we would have liked to have gone somewhere close for a feed. Ended up driving to Rutherglen.

Gorgeous accommodation. Stayed here for a work trip. Clean and comfortable and owners were lovely. Woke to the wildlife.

We had a lovely relaxing stay here at The Butter Factory.New owners Karen (artist/midwife) & Phil (musician/tradesman) formerly from Melbourne, recently made the big tree change, and have taken on this big, beautiful baby, to pour their love and creativity into.The stunning Factory and grounds are quite large, and our accommodation was away from the main building, so private, tastefully decorated, comfy, with everything we needed.Loungeroom was especially beautiful, decorated with gold velvet couches, plush cushions, bohemian art, and special touches to make you feel at home.Bed was incredibly comfortable (had the best sleep ever), rooms were all warm & cosy, shower very efficient, kitchen stocked with fridge and all you needed to make breakfast and for your stay.. This stunning historic building, large romantic barn (perfect for a wedding), are set in a picturesque, peaceful part of this region. It is also home to two majestically colored peacocks, boldly painted roosters, hens… and large white geese who roam around freely, making the scene feel quite storybook.Karen & Phil both make you feel very welcome. They are continually making improvements, respecting the buildings structure and history, though enhancing the canvas with their artistic flair, hard work, attention to detail, and desire to create a magical space to unwind, reflect and celebrate.I highly recommend you treat yourself, and stay at least a couple of nights here off the beaten track, away from the Justin and bustle…though only just a short drive to Rutherglen township.We look forward to coming back!Deb & Shane (Melb)

It is a quirky place which i liked and it feels very homely. It is peaceful and tranquil except when the rooster crows early morning which i loved.

I wish I could give more stars. We attended a wedding that ran for a few days and I cannot thank Stu and Sue enough for everything they did to make sure that we, as guests, were comfortable - nothing was too much trouble! The cabins were clean and comfy and the whole place was the perfect wedding location. We loved our time here. Thank you.

The accommodation is unique and full of character. Beds were very comfortable and the accommodation was very spacious. Very clean and all we needed for 2 nights accommodation. The host met us on arrival and was very friendly.
