Showcases a magnificent range of local minerals. The establishment is run by council and is full of history and information on the towns minerals and mining. Examples of the minerals are displayed with timeline stories. I loved it.

Well worth the entry fee. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but once you step in the door you realise you’ve found a gem (pun intended). Not so suitable for very small children but anyone aged 10+ should enjoy themselves. You don’t need to have an interest in minerals/mining, it’s interesting regardless. Allow about 45 minutes for a full walkthrough. There’s some gems and such available in the gift shop.

Great little museum that takes you through the formation of rocks and gems, starting at the Big Bang. Lots of history surrounding the mining industry in Broken Hill. The tour finishes with the famous Silver Tree and a bit of history surrounding it. Entry is by donation and the tour should take less than an hour. Great little gift shop. Huge thanks to Ryan for being so helpful with our little girl, showing her all the rocks and gems.

The Geo centre as it's locally known covers the different minerals and genealogical finds that are apart of the Line of Lode. There are some great audio visual presentations, many mineral displays and lots of read. It's a must visit for those who love geology and enjoy gemstones and mineral collections.

Professionally prepared and presented mineral specimens, informative displays and videos, friendly and knowledgeable staff. There are boulder size specimens in the backyard and pebbles I looked at by microscope.A must have for anyone even remotely interested in geology, science, minerals and crystals or mining.

Very interesting to see how the Broken Hill mine all started, nice range of local minerals and theatrette. Entry is a $5 donation for a family, they don't accept cash at the moment. Well worth a look.
