I visited Lyn's clinic for feather touch brows by her student for final assessments. The consultation was brief and lacked attention to important details of expected outcomes. I regretfully signed a consent form I failed to read that placed all responsibility back on me for ANY negative outcomes. I should have read the disclaimer and asked more questions, however I feel strongly some of these points should have been highlighted in the consultation, especially to clients who do not have the knowledge or qualifications of an expert. I was assured by Lyn that her student was competent providing reassurance she could perform the task well.I requested restoration of my natural straight brow and gave consent to have them a little thicker SLIGHTLY outside the existing hairline. I was not asked what colour I would like so naturally assumed they would colour match my existing brow. Upon discussion the student recommended a colour that I agreed to, Lyn then told Jeuel to use a different colour I was not consulted about.Upon completion, the first thing I noticed was that one brow was thicker than the other which I immediately pointed out. I was politely dismissed and told to wait for the healing process as changes occur in this time.I contacted Lyn several times during the healing period raising 2 CONCERNS ABOUT THE COLOUR AND THE SIZE DISCREPANCY between the brows. The healed outcome resulted in a bad colour match and one brow thicker than the other sitting unevenly and a considerable amount of ink above the natural brow. When approached Lyn politely offered 2 band aid solutions at no cost to me and a final recommendation that the best outcome would be to have them removed at my own cost“YOU ARE CORRECT THAT MY ADVICE WAS AND STILL IS TO HAVE THEM COMPLETELY REMOVED AND START AGAIN.” (Lyn’s own words)When I asked her if she would be happy with these results, she said NOTHING.In order to conceal and blend the imperfections I need to apply make-up daily. I have attempted to allow them to fade naturally due the cost of laser only to see uneven fading and further flaws due to inexperience. Some areas have she had gone too deep with the blade causing strong colour retention in some areas and are now uneven in colour. This entire experience has been costly and caused a lot of anxiety.I investigated my consumer rights and it is my understanding that I am well with in my rights to be compensated for the undesirable outcome. I initiated contact with the necessary mediators to attempt the resolution I was entitled to and recommended as the best option by Lyn. However, she then refused to offer anything more than a refund under the stipulation I sign a waiver (I’m assuming preventing me from posting any negative feedback). This was the last offer from Lyn before I took matters further to attempt to get her to remove the brows as per her recommendation. I have since contacted her after her refusal to do the right thing to get my money back and she chose ignored my messages and giving no compensation.Text from Lyn as a final offer 3/12/18“As of As I said in clinic which you refused. I was happy to give you a refund on the grounds you sign a waiver release form. I'm not agreeing to pay for your any removal treatments. As a good gesture today, I will again offer to refund your purchase of $200 upon signing the waiver release form.”I would not recommend anyone to Lyn. My experience reflected to me she lacks empathy, integrity, professionalism, and provides poor customer care.I feel strongly that as a teacher of this student Lyn is responsible for what your students produce especially when assured of the student’s competency. Being a professional means not only taking credit for best work but also the mistakes that are made. By no means do I expect that people are perfect and understand things like this can happen, but I do except people to take responsibility and do their best to be honourable by resolving things in the best interest ofthe client.
