Such a beautiful store! Truly the most thoughtful, generous and genuine people work here, and I love them all! In just a few weeks, the lovely people here have become family to me and have made me feel as if I am their own. I hope to always have them in my life! They have truly made me so happy and have helped my partners family out so much. They did so much for us, and I’m sure they will do the same for you! We are writing this review to try to warn future customers about this shop and its owners, Berger & Valentine Tanese.Myself and my fiancé, recently found two rings, our future wedding rings, in this ‘antique’ shop, in Hobart. We asked the lady behind the counter, Berger (or Bridget), the history of the rings. To which she told us they are from the 1960s, she purchased them from Austria, from a shop that closed 45years ago, they are a French design from 1920s, these were the last ones she had. Wow, exciting!They didn’t quite fit, so we decided to go away, have a coffee and think about it, as we are tourists you see and this is our special day, we only have this day once, they needed to be right. So we came back, looked at the rings again and magically they fit us perfectly! We therefore purchased the rings, thinking nothing of it! Very happy & emotional, with our wedding rings!Yesterday, we were in a lovely little village, called Richmond (beautiful by the way) and to our confusion we spotted the identical rings to the ones we had just purchased that were apparently, well unique! The lady at this shop advised us that the rings are new, perhaps made this year or last, from a company that mass produces them in Victoria, Australia and then provides these rings to two shops in Tasmania; her shop and one other in Hobart. Well, we felt completely sick! I nearly cried!Very shocked!So, we went back to Stonewall Antiques to confront the owner, Berger & wow there were the rings we had purchased again! The unique ones from the 1960s remember. So obviously NOT the last ones!She would not accept the fact that she has mislead us and lied to our face, she admitted when accused of it, of going out the back getting bigger sized rings for when we returned from our coffee, so we would would make the purchase! She has lied about the style, model & history of a product! She is mixing new rings in with, maybe older rings, & blatantly lying to our face & is no doubt doing it to other consumers! She has broken the law under the Competition & Consumer Rights Act 2010 and we are going to have them investigated! Her & her husband need to be stopped, stopped lying to to people, stopped misleading consumers, this may even come under fraud! We are taking this further. Keep away!

Walk into stonewall antiques today, wow truly what a pleasant shopping experience. Was greeted straight away by the lovely lady behind the counter. So helpful and the range of antiques, vintage, Art Deco, and even some beautiful reproduction pieces in store left me amazed. Couldn’t walk out without buying something so had to buy my partner this lovely little Art Deco ring, thank you Stonewall I will recommend and will be back on next holiday.

Wow how some people get so upset over a simple misunderstanding.I have shopped several times at Stonewall and have always found the owners knowledgeable about their antique items and generous with their time. They are always happy to go that extra yard to find the exact thing you are looking for. Its a veritable treasure trove and I love shopping there and they wholeheartedly deserve their five stars from me.

A beautiful place to visit.The owners are lovely and there is so so much to look at in the store it's just amazing.They also buy and offer fair prices.

Wonderful place stacked with interesting and exquisite antiques. The owners are knowledgeable and friendly .. this is the best antique shop around if you want unusual eclectic items from all eras. A great experience not to be missed. You won’t find another like this one. Definitely 5 stars on all fronts.

This is a store not to be missed! I normally enter antique shops just to browse. I was thoroughly amazed at the range on offer and extremely helpful staff. I was very happy with my purchase and couldn’t recommend this antique shop enough!
