As a small business owner in Australia, we work hard, employ staff, pay the many varieties of tax. We then have to pay all of the random expenses involved in running a business. So we do the right thing, unlike so many business's and already pay a royalty charge to APRA to play music. APRA then decide to pass our number onto their buddies at PPCA. We then get threatening letters etc saying we must pay or be sued. They are authorised to bring legal proceedings on behalf of Copy Right owners.So these wonderful humanitarians, who return only a small amount of money to the actual copyright holders, feel like they can hold anyone to ransom for playing music in a business, even though we have already done the right thing and paid for the music both to spotifiy and APRA.I would suggest that you hang your heads in shame. We are a small business, not making much money and you decide that you deserve to be paid for doing nothing and adding nothing to our society in general by threatening and bullying small business owners.
