This has to be the best vantage point to view what was the Biggest open cut gold mine in the world.Although the working sheds and buildings have deteriorated with time and weather, one gets an idea of size of the operation.Also a view of the offices and management buildings can be seen to the right. They are still in excellent condition.For a photographic view, please, visit The Museum in the Historic Town.Enjoy.

The best spot in Mt Morgan to put in perspective the sheer size and get a view of now extinct mining operation. A historic site with a great back story encompassing what was at one stage the most successful gold mine in the world.

If you are wanting a view of Mount Morgan and to get an idea of scale then you have to stop at the lookout. Unfortunately the mine is no longer accessible to the public so the lookout is the only vantage point to admire the historical ruins of what were once the largest goldmine in the world.I’ve posted some photos of the tour we did in 2015.

It's a short drive away from the centre of town. Its a marvellous view of the mine. You can just look out from your car or get out and enjoy the view and fresh air! There is also a picnic table if you want to take some food and eat up there.

Great spot for a break from driving. Some tree shade and shaded pucnic table. Had a cool breeze and interesting view of the old Gold mine the chimney is epic. 750000 bricks ! Not a bad effort for its time.
