Had a wonderful time while I was there. The trainers are very knowledgeable and actually know what they are talking about! Highly recommend!

Absolute was a fantastic place to start my journey into BJJ, fantastic and very helpful beginner classes and even better intermediate and advanced classes.A really great atmosphere and culture among the students has been cultivated by the head instructor Sean. This for me is the only place I would go in Melbourne, only reason I've left is due to moving cities.I will definitely be back whenever I'm in Melbourne!

I trained at Absolute in Collingwood for about a year before sadly moving away from the area. This gym has something for everyone with an inclusive environment and most importantly very experienced and professional coaches.Training here is a great way to improve your fitness, technique and confidence.

I was really uncomfortable at the city location. I was training to fight at a reputable gym in Mexico this time last year and unfortunately suffered an accident and now suffer from a disability in my hand. With a lot of resilience and determination I returned to training and have been working really hard to adapt to my new abilities. When I came for a booked trial, initially they were trying to send me away as they wouldn’t have space in the gym for me to do the sequences on the bag, I’m not really sure why it would take up more room training on a bag than with a partner, my distance is the same whatever I’m training with. . I was persistent with them and they eventually let me train but then while I was in the class, what other trainers would normally do is help me adapt the sequences to my abilities/bag work which only takes a moment of their time or at the least check up on me once or twice in the class, as you would with fully abled students. The trainer didn’t speak to me the whole class, when I reconfirmed a sequence he didn’t even really bother to show me he just kind of very briefly told me and moved on to help other students. It takes a lot of courage to come back after an accident and start from zero again and I found my experience disheartening and uncomfortable.Anyway, I will haven’t found an MMA gym and it’s really sad to be missing out o training, I was training twice a day, doing three personal sessions a week in my old gym but I feel hesitant and uncomfortable in the mma culture here in australia from my first experience and hoping this isn’t how all mma gyms work here, disappointing from a country that has many reputable fighters. They have recently responded to my review, I have legitimately reported it and ironically requested “an apology” for the discrimination I received. I have it all in writing their responses including when the person I was discussing the issue with went to my Facebook page and started screenshot ring things from my Facebook page trying to humiliate me saying I was “lying” about my disability, which is in my medical records. I unfortunately did have a similar situation at another gym and was “banned” in response to explaining my disability, not in response to “my behavior” which is also all in writing. At no point have I sort financial compensation, I am genuinely just looking for a good gym and to be treated with respect, I have trained offshore for years. I have reported the matters to the appropriate body in order to prevent other people with. Disability trying the sport being subject to the same discrimination.

I was moving around looking for the right gym to suit me until I settled at ABSOLUTE. The timetable has classes ranging from beginner level to classes for those wanting to compete. The coaches are highly skilled and they also have classes that will help you improve your general health including yoga and sports conditioning. The environment you train in is high energy and it's a great place to learn, regardless of your level of skill. A very impressive gym with its facilities and services they offer. Loving it!
