Cook's Electroplating

Did an excellent job of plating a set of antique steel handles and custom nails for a dresser that I went back for another excellent job of plating a pair cast iron picture frames. If you are not sure of what finish you want, they are very knowledgeable on what plating finish would be best for the item.

S . Cook and Sons offer a very professional service.I sent down 20 pieces to be chromed, there turn around time was very fast, there quality of workmanship is outstanding.The quote was emailed within a couple of days.I will use this Company again.

The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The end product has always been exceptional. Have used them for many years, for items such as old Russian Tea Urns, Kettles, Fire extinguisher, Fire Place Items and Fire Truck Bell.

I had 2 brass items polished recently. One is a very old and intricate statue of a stork standing on the back of a turtle. A difficult item to polish, the result is outstanding. The second item is a large brass plate dating back to my great grandfather who had it made in England in 1880, also a great result. I fully endorse the work done for me by S. Cook and Sons.

I had a pewter chess piece that was of significant sentimental value. Surprisingly my tactic of fixing it with blu-tac was an abject failure, and after making several requests around the place for who had a better idea, I had the good fortune of being directed to this crew, who made the whole process very easy. I'm delighted with the result.

I can’t thank the staff of S Cook and sons for the restoration of my precious Silver Tea Service. It has been in our family for around 100 years and looks amazing now.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing the same service.

Cooke & Sons plating.I took two aluminium light mounts to have them stripped back to base metal.Well it was impossible to polish these parts as they had left the entire nickel plate on them.Result was it took many hours of hard work to remove the plating.Eventually I was able to polish and clear coat them.Very poor quality workmanship, but paid the top dollar!

Hi, l’ve been using this family company for decades including my original brass bed heads.Have had many items restored since, including my great grandparents bed warmer, restored silver tray which in itself is a testimony to the service they offer.Due to covid restrictions in 2020 they arranged postage for the tray which l thought was wonderful service.I’ve had lots of items done over the years from Buddhist Statues, brass lamp stands, and if l wandered around my home doing a count of restored items would be around 50.I’m grateful there’s a company that offers this service in this day and age and hope S Cook and Sons will be around for many more generations.

I have been taking my special pieces to Cooks for over 10 years. no job has been to small or too big. They have also been professional and friendly to work with. I have never been disappointed with the any of the pieces I have had restored. I value their integrity and honesty. I recently took a piece of silverware over to Cooks for a quote to be restored. I was aware the piece would probably cost over $500 to be restored, I was surprised when the lovely staff advised me their Silversmith would probably not wish to restore this piece as it would devalue the integrity of the piece. I was a little unsure of what they meant they advised me that the piece was more valuable in its current condition however they would be happy to clean it properly, which was for a sustainably less amount of money. They needed have advised of how valuable the piece was they could have just taken my money and I would never have known. However they have continued to show what a great business they are and how professional and honest they are to deal with.I have been fortunate enough to have had been able to have some lovely pieces restored by Cooks. I continue to highly recommend this company to my friends and family.I sincerely pray that Cooks are in business for a very long time to come, their work is exceptional.Kaylene Tomlin
