Okami Japanese Restaurant
Above average food, average ambience. Busy place. There’s plenty of buffet options.Buffet is priced as approx $45pp but the bummer is that you need a minimum of 2 people to order a buffet. I felt that most of the food was prepared well in advanced and re-heated.There’s a decent amount of vegetarian options.

Good food but poor service very hard to wave someone down, wasn’t peak hours. Often times would spend waiting at the table with nothing on it waiting for the sever to come back and ask what we would like next. Towards the end we ordered 4 dish’s and waited 20 minutes and still nothing. When you first arrive the food comes out very fast. No new people had arrived so they can’t say it got busy. Paid for the all you can eat but it seems after you eat a certain amount they start to ignore you. Quite the underhanded tactic.

On the verge of 5 stars to this establishment however, noticeable items did miss the spot for me and have a handful of remarks. (pros and cons)The food overall was well presented and was in simple terms delicious.The contrast of the ingredients were quite explosive and flamboyant.The main issue we had and observed other customers have the similar issue was that the customer service was lacking and needs improvement. We had to wave a waiter over to get the menus after being seated at the table (over 15 mins) and it probably took just as long to get their attention to order.Overall the atmosphere was quite pleasant and smelt good and the staff was friendly even though it was quite busy.

More expensive than other Okamis and the menu has gotten smaller. Food portions are interesting, they seem to get smaller the longer you are there. The nigiri platter is disappointing, only comes with 2 pieces of fish and plenty of tofu and egg unfortunately. Even when requesting more fish, was only given more tofu. Apart from the frustrating portion sizes, the staff are super friendly and mostly attentive. Food quality is great and the drinks are good too.

A nice Japanese restaurant with friendly staff and great service. Always like Japanese plum wine. Fried oysters were delicious; beef skewers were tasty and tender; mushroom was fresh and good flavour. Food quality was good and not expensive.

3 stars are for the layout and decor. Food was a bit disappointing. I have attached a couple of photos about Teriyaki chicken. On the menu, it said GRILLED, but we got fried.... it totally misled the customers. If you can't serve the things on the menu l, you need to give your customers an explanation. it tasted so much different. And the calamari was chewy. Drink came long way after a few plates. I know Albury may not have much choice for Japanese food but still out of expectations. Wouldn't recommend going back again.

Terrible customer service, literally had to chase them to order and pay. Food was a massive disappointment, tasteless. Worst is that I wasn’t allowed to “all you can eat” because I was alone, not that I was going to pay half price, so the concept of all you can eat isn’t well understood.

I was taken here as family birthday celebration and what a great choice.Lovely food, lovely people. Approx $40 per person and my expectations are based on this. A good 5 stars.We had the all you can eat banquet and all enjoyed this. The food was delicious!We will be back!And thank you for the extra touch, a birthday candle in the little ones icecream. Nice!
