Lake Herbert walking track
Great little walk. Part of the Mt Farrell nature park. Allow 3.5-4 hours so that you don't rush. The lake is a great spot for some lunch and even a cheeky dip if it's warm .Take care, the track is not very maintained and quite steep and slippery in parts(leaf litter and rough track. This is technically on the fringe of the central highlands be prepared for any kind of weather (we had 28 degrees)Fantastic views over to the central highlands and lake makintosh , and you can divert up onto the top of Mt Farrell as well.
