really cute reserve. it’s free. no entry or cost to get in. if you go during the early mornings or late nights you’d probably see a platypus but i was there during the day so no sightings. they have bbq facilities and many toilets along the river walk

Fantastic place to walk around and view the beautiful nature. We didn’t get to see a platypus but did see plenty of other wildlife.

Nice walk however lack of maintenance meant the path was covered in decomposing leaves which were slippery in the wet. There is an undercover picnic area near the car park

Fern Glade Platypus Reserve
This is a totally majestic place, nice walking tracks, picnic areas with tables, barbecue place and public toilets. You might get lucky and see platypus at the river banks. The place have a lovely rain forest vibe.There is onsite car park. In general it is a lovely place and a perfect destination for family outings.I highly recommend visiting this place for anyone who visit Burnie, it is really beautiful.

The reserve had been affected by floods. We wanted to see platypus but instead we saw a few pademeloms and beautiful kookaburras laughing. The creek was raging.
