Putta Bucca Wetlands
Highly recommended part of Mudgee. Park the car and take a walk along the wetlands and take a photo or three. Absolutely stunning on a sunny day. There are a few spots to stop and take photos along your walk. Take a photo of the map at the entrance before you set off and follow the path around the lake.

The car park area & playground and walking track is well maintained. However there is rubbish, broken signs, broken side rails, & not a place that should be listed as a ‘must see’. I’d recommend the various parks in Mudgee first. It’s a pretty river though.

Putta Bucca Wetlands
Not sure where they are up to with these wetlands, but at the moment it seems like it is a work in progress. The walks are quite pleasant, however there are a lot of weeds everywhere. Not sure whether it was the time of day, but we didn't see a lot of wildlife apart from carp.

Awesome parkland, such a beautiful walk around. The path is well laid out and easy to walk. Enjoyed sitting by the water's edge watching the birds. Very enjoyable. Great for the kids.

Putta Bucca Wetlands
This place is a great break away from the vineyards and food (all of which are stunning in Mudgee). The signage at the gate and on the walk could be a little clearer, and parts of the wetlands seemed a little unloved. Come around sunset and get some spectacular lighting. Lots of birds to see and a nice pleasant walk.

Putta Bucca Wetlands
A very pleasant surprise to see these wetlands. A nice tranquil spot teeming with a broad variety of bird life. The walk is nice and easy, with bush trees and other plants. Well work a visit.

Putta Bucca Wetlands
This is a fantastic little space to view bird life from 2 bird hides with walks meandering around a number of water features. A Wallaby even came up to one of the hides while I was there. Loved it.! Really recommend it. I saw at least 10 species of birds on what was a very windy and blustery day.

Ok place for a wander although not much birdlife during the day and not particularly scenic. Early morning or evening maybe better.
