I looked at a few BJJ places before deciding on SJJA Maroubra for my young sons. SJJA Maroubra has been a great experience for them. The team there are fantastic with kids and always make it fun, while learning at the same time. I'd recommend SJJA Maroubra for anyone looking to get their children into Jiu Jitsu.

I could not rate John, Ben, Vess, Laura and the team at SJJA highly enough. Our 4.5 year old has been attending Squids for a year and a half and both he and we love it. If your child is a bit shy the classes fill them with confidence. If full of energy it gives them discipline and focus. We are constantly blown away by how well the classes are run and the kids learn all sorts of skills which transfer into all parts of their development, both sporting and far more broadly. Our daughter (now 11) has been a member of SJJA Maroubra since she was 5. It's a wonderful community for girls and boys alike, with great instructors. Over the years we have noticed the gym is willing to change its offerings to better suit the changing needs of the constituents. The gym seeks feedback to allow them to do this and we have really appreciated their willingness to do this. Highly recommended.

My eldest daughter has just turned 4 and taken her first few “Squids” classes at SJJA Maroubra. She absolutely loves it! Ben the coach is amazing at teaching the kids and building their confidence. We look forward to every class!

I have been driving past the SJJA school for years and finally decided to give it a go myself after taking my 5 yo in for an introductory class. Best decision I have made in a long time. Super friendly instructors and classes have such a great vibe. Who knew rolling around on the mat was such a tough workout?

I Decided to come back to jiu-jitsu after a long time and singed up with SJJA. Amazing place to train with a very good professional team. Not only the people who work at SJJA are great, but also the people who train there. There is a very good sense of community with everybody at the SJJA. Great to be part of it.Highly recommend to everyone who is thinking about joining. Do a first class and see for yourself.
