Nice little cafe. Staff were nice.Ordered the fish and chips, both tasted pretty good.Also ordered the ice coffee, which didn’t have much coffee flavour to it.

Sick of the rain and getting hungry as we headed to Ballarat. So we got off the freeway into Ballan. We were very pleasantly surprised by Zest. A roomy place might have been a general store in its day. But the food on offer was really good. The BLT with Avocado was ample with plenty of the local butcher's bacon. We would like to come up and buy his bacon! It was delicious. The beef burger was very tasty with the meat still moist and not squeezed out of all the juices. And it also had the local bacon in it. So, we really enjoyed the fare there. Make a point of pulling the freeways into these hamlets, you will be pleasantly surprised with what you find.

I was on my way home from staying at the local caravan park and stopped in for a late breakfast. It was a good breakfast menu and I selected a skinny Cap plus two eggs scrambled on toast for $11. The service was very good and it did not take very long to arrive. You cannot go wrong with eggs on toast. Thank you and Regards

The service,decor and feel of the place was very good. Unfortunately the food wasn't great.. mistake with the order and quite bland flavour.

Very friendly staff and owner. It is a focal part of enjoying Ballan - for not only locals, but anyone heading out on the Western Freeway, and others like us. Well worth visiting

Just the right amount of everything on the plate. Got the big breakfast and it was the perfect combo of eggs, mushroom, bacon... You get the idea. Yum

I liked it. It was a really cold day when we visited and this place was a bit of an oasis as it has inside seating. Can't say it was cheap as it wasn't. Quite nice surroundings although a little tidy up wouldn't hurt. The chicken salad I had was great. The Greek salad my brother had looked good too and he said it was good. Cake selection only fair. The serve alcohol too if this floats your boat. Parking outside. Friendly staff. Service was good
