Friends gave a voucher to my partner for his birthday to make your own beer. You are given a list of beers they make and what they taste like compared to well known brands. We chose to upgrade to a dark ale for only $10 more and began the process. You weigh out all the parts, stir it up etc. Good to have a beer and chat whilst you are doing it as lots of waiting in between the steps. But overall a fun day and good to see the process. The guys who took us through it all were energetic and made the process fun.Two weeks later we came back to bottle our beer. The process was a bit unclear so we kept bottling assuming the keg would run out - unfortunately bottled 2 bottles too many (only supposed to do 72). The way the guy told us was like being told off by a teacher and put a really awkward damper on the end of what was overwise a great experience. Would still recommend for those interested in beer, or as a great gift for friends. Just make sure you only bottle the amount you are supposed too!

Venue is nice; but very hands off brewing experience . Basically just weigh out the ingredients and pass them over. The beer was ok, but not as expected and the hops never came through. After a month in the bar fridge it was already going off. 2 weeks later I poured 15 x 500ml cans down the sink it was that bad.Lucky I have a spare bar fridge as they don’t mention that as there are no preservatives, beer should be drunk within a few weeks if at room temperature. So make sure you have room for 40+ large cans or keg it and have a party organised.

Another star for being able to drop in and swap the recently purchased undrinkable beer. California Pale Ale got some confidence back but Factory Golden Ale sent me back into depression. Same lingering apple taste that permeates through each beer. Something definitely wrong with the process.Original Review before:Previously had a brew session and brewed a batch of sierra navada pale ale but did not match the aroma or flavour that was expected. I put that down to my brewing skills but enjoyed the experience. Was in the area and thought I’d support the small business. Bought the Usain Bolter (Balter XPA) and a NEIPA. NEIPA was supposed to have citra, mosaic and centennial hops which was very exciting. Both the Bolter and NEIPA displayed strong apple flavours with the NEIPA having more malt characteristics. Both were very similar and nothing like a Balter XPA or a NEIPA. Very disappointing as I was excited to snatch a bargain but now are struggling to consume more than 1 x 500ml can. I’m sure the beer factory can do better than to just provide a novelty for up and coming brewers.
