Simply the most professional hair salon i have found in 12 years on the road globally. Their standard of work is always the same, outstanding. I have know Rebecca and Justin since 2011 and have been to many salons since I first went to Confidente but when ever I come home they are the only place I will go. I have never had a bad stylist there, not even an average one. They don't even employee apprentices. If you are looking for the best i can recommend this salon as a true 5/5 experience.

I am so impressed. I tried Confidente after many of my own facial guests told me they went there. I have seen these women's hair over the past 5-6 years and it is always excellent. I should not have waited so long to try this salon.First of all the booking experience was excellent. I was able to do an appointment request online outside of work hours, nominating my preferred time. I was emailed back the following day to refine a few details. A phone call was needed, as I had a few questions.The owner herself, Rebecca, returned my call. She was kind, well-spoken and a great communicator.I was asked to leave a credit card to secure my time. This is ALWAYS the sign of a good salon and I was more than happy to do so. After all, a strong stylist is in demand, and obviously these stylists are popular.My appointment was confirmed 4 days prior by SMS. This was helpful because it gave me a contact number in my mobile, which I had forgotten to enter myself.When I arrived, I initially couldn't find it. That's because the address is 152 Elizabeth St, but it's actually INSIDE the arcade which itself is 150 Elizabeth St. There is a big sign that says a business name and 150 Elizabeth. Go in there, and it's the first door to your right. You will see a tiny staircase which actually stands right out as it looks so intriguing - a little magical actually, a la Harry Potter.Only a single flight up, the door is right in front of you.I was warmly welcomed by my stylist and the owner was also onsite training another stylist in advanced ingredient knowledge. She popped out to the cafe so as not to disrupt my treatment.Confidente takes personal space quite seriously, the time is yours and yours ALONE.The space is beautifully decorated. It's the salon your SATC fan girlfriends would design if they were millionaires employing a personal hairdresser nobody else was allowed to go to - just for one, super luxe.I was here for a complete consultation and restyle, after years of doing short-notice hair appointments. Though my last salon is also amazing, I struggle to get in with them on the days I am free - not their fault, it's mine. Our work hours don't clash, so I never do a long session with consult etc.My stylist was able to lead me through all the colour options I mentioned. And I mentioned a lot. She gave an outline of what the path would be for each of the options I mentioned.We settled on a full colour removal. I was given options of colour remove or bleach it out, strongly recommending a colour removal as, though slower, it's a gentler process. My hair health was the priority at every step of the service. The removal was very effective. I then had a toner. I won't have a full colour service until the next time, to allow my hair time to recover, so I was a little worried I might be leaving looking less-than-gorgeous for this first time - but prepared to bear with it in the interests of long-term hair beauty. I actually am so thrilled. The colour removal and toning was done in such a way that nobody knows I'm in that process, it looks like I've had a colour refresh, and the tone right now is one I would choose to keep if we didn't already have a long-term plan.My poor stylist was working over a Very. Bad. Haircut I got at a mall walk-in salon (don't even ask, I know, what was I DOING - let's call it PMS and lack of chocolate that day?)So she didn't have a lot of good hair to work with considering I asked her to 'keep it full and long'. Somehow she has worked a small miracle and my hair is now silky, bright, fresh and well cut. I was given some beautiful hair-care options, with reasons WHY I would use those products and not just 'you need this'. I chose the Kevin Murphy Angel range as I've used it before and I adore the packaging. yes, and it's awesome product. Next time I'll be trying the Oribe Gold MaskI've read about it for years but never found an Australian salon stockist, so I'm pretty impressed they have it. An absolute 10/10 from a very hard-to-please client. Adore, rave, go.

Tina was absolutely fantastic. Having just flown in from London, I came across Confidente by chance however I could not have found a more talented and gorgeous hairdresser for my special occasion. Thank you! I will definitely come back next time I am in town!

Had such a fantastic experience here with Tina. She walked me through her ideas for my hair before beginning, and gave me some tips for helping to maintain it in future. The cut itself was great, and I'm happy with the result.The one on one nature of Confidente is unparalleled, and makes for an enjoyable experience, as well as, I believe, a better outcome due to no inconsistency between stylists. Can't wait to come back.**Update (6 months later)Have been going to Tina consistently, three times now since March, and have each time come away with a fantastic haircut. Tina is professional and very experienced, and takes time to ensure you leave with something that is tailored to you. Alongside of this, the personal feel to her studio, along with friendly demeanor, have made it an easy decision to continue returning. Can't wait until my next visit.

I have been going there since it opened back in 2008. It is a great personal salon. I go there because at all times the attention is always on you as there are no other customers causing distractions. Rebecca’s has got a great crew with her. All of the girls have cut my hair and have to say consistency is great with absolutely no complaints. Yes I could go to an express cut or barber for my haircut but why when I get personal service and consistency every time?Highly recommended!Well done girls!

I couldn’t be happier with my experience at your salon. I was wanting a complete revamp, and Natalie was so amazing with the suggestions she gave me. She was really chatty and kept me informed the whole way through the process. I also loved how the service provided was one to one. With salons that I’ve been to before, the colourists/stylists would be working on 2 maybe 3 clients at any one time, jumping between them, and you feel more like a production line than a client. At this salon, you have the full attention of the staff and it’s a much more personal experience...Hands down the best salon I’ve been to yet!!

Amazing results from a one on one experience, where you feel heard and looked after. Tina does a fantastic job, when even if you aren't sure, she asks the perfect questions to discover what you truly want with your hair. The relaxed atmosphere, and welcoming approach that Tina has, made for the best experience I have had with a hair stylist, and I can't wait for my next appointment.

While visiting Melbourne from interstate I had the pleasure of getting my hair washed, cut and blow waved by the wonderful Anne at Confidente. The service was professional, informative, efficient and well-priced. I was very pleased with the result and will be returning to Confidente on my visit to Victoria.

What a fabulous find in Melbourne. I enjoy the fact it is a intimate studio with one on one service. Given I lead a very hectic life, the personal experience and time I have with the stylist is exceptional. I have been 3 times now and every time I have been most impressed. Last night I took my daughter also. Kathryn is an exceptional operator, very knowledgeable, on trend and extremely patient. Customer service and satisfaction for me has been 10/10.
