Mansfield Family Practice

My GP is great. The practice is poor. My appointment was canceled because I hadn’t been in 12 months. I had to book that appointment a month in advance and have to wait a month for another appointment that aligns with my RDO. Likely to look for a new practice. What a rubbish policy

So I’ve been a patient for years at this practice close to over ten years in total. During covid, I’ve stayed away from doctors, and so since I’ve not been there for two years during covid, i was made an inactive patient. And now I’m unable to get a booking and my booking was canceled on Friday this week because I was inactive patient. I was advised to go elsewhere. This absolutely poor, so now I have to go to a new doctor, and get my records transferred to someone else who doesn’t know me. Thanks for nothing

It seems after reading a few of the reviews that there is a common theme. A couple of good doctors but poor admin and management. I rang (I am a patient there, well, WAS a patient there) for my wife who had taken quite ill, and they told me that they were not taking any new patients. It looks like they have enough, so sorry we're full" is the new philosophy. I hope they read their reviews but it looks like they have enough business to sustain them for a bit. Thank you Dr Sam and Dr Udeni but fare thee well."

Best GP from my personal experience. Dr Thushara Pussella has been my GP for many years, looked after me pre & post surgery for my back, my pregnancies and both my girls and has always been so good to me and my small family. Also had a great experience with the nurse today, she was so friendly and gentle with my newborn, I appreciate the compassion she gave to me and my daughter. Thank you and thank you to the reception whose always helpful and kind :)

I am absolutely appalled with the service at this practice! I have been with this practice as well as my family for many years and never had an issue.Recently I tried to book in an appointment for two weeks time and have been rejected based on me not being a current patient. I may have not been to the practice in the past two years based on me being healthy and not needing to visit the doctor. However, I was informed had I been last year, this wouldn't have this issue. Being told I should pop in to simply say hi to keep an active record! How Ridiculous!! The way we have been dealt with as a past patient of this practice, my family and I will be moving away from these guys as they have no care for you as a patient.Don't give these guys a dime of your time. You may be looked after now but heaven forbid you are healthy and don't visit them for a while as when you do want to see them, they have complete disregard for you and your health.

This practise refused to see my child as the appointment was for a refer only for a X-ray for a fractured finger because we are a new patient and didn’t want to move doctors from our current one. We are not a walk in, we booked the night before.

Receptionist Tenielle was not pleasant to speak to on the phone. Working in GP myself I know that the first point of contact is with us (Reception) and we generally set the tone for an experience within a practice. I would sure hate to work alongside someone who doesn’t seem to care about their job or the practice they work at. Very disappointing.

The doctors are great but the reception staff during the day are beyond terrible. Extremely rude and bordering on racism. We booked an appointment for my mother for Covid vaccination and when we reached there are 30 mins of travel they told us she cannot be vaccinated as she has no Medicare. We had booked this appointment many days ago and she is a patient with them for 2 years so everything is in the system so how come they did not ask or mention this. When we got upset the person at reception said it is not their job to ask us and everyone should know. He said he did not care what is happening in our lives we should just lump it and go somewhere else where they give vaccines without Medicare.

The waiting times are ridiculous. I had an appointment at 1.00pm only to go in close to 2pm on a weekday. I would say the doctors accomodate late patients, or simply do not ask for the purpose of an appointment before hand. Not even an apology from the doctor… That being said I appreciate the bulk-billing. Not all the front desk receptionists are kind or appear to smile. It’s not that hard to smile and set a good impression upon the patients arriving in the doctors office. When I took my newborn for his first week appointment the nurse recorded his weight incorrectly, and the dr didn’t realise, or even check that such a huge increase was literally not possible… it’s honestly just appalling because they’re compromising the quality of care just because they’re busy or understaffed. My red book was also filled out carelessly without any detail for subsequent visits. Every visit is here is messy, stressful and rushed right from the moment you walk in the door. Reception is always huffing and puffing when dealing with patients. I’ve never felt like any dr/staff here provide a thorough nor comprehensive level of care. I guess that’s why they are mixed bulk billing, you get exactly what you expect/pay for. It’s better to see a dr in a more calm and relaxed environment with more friendly and knowledgeable staff. I wish I could give this place 0 stars! Disgusting

If I could give 0 stars I would. Waited 50 mins for an appointment for my baby. Wasn't told at all that there was going to be a big wait. Ended up having to leave because it was taking so long. The receptionist was coughing everywhere and not wearing a mask. Was hoping to change to this practise but will definitely be going somewhere else.
