Mightnt have been as blue as it should of been, But still beautiful. Watch your children from the top as it's just a sheer drop off and if going in winter require a good 4wd. Mud and clay factor 10/10. Still a scenic fresh aired walk. Watch out for prickly bushes

The two boys and I travelled to Blue Waters this afternoon and we are really glad we did. Yes, there were no road signs saying Blue Waters" or any warning signs telling you that it is strongly advised that the use of 4WD vehicles on the road is preferable

just the most amazing place! so many windy track and lots of fun. the biggest thing though is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT. DO.NOT. SWIM! the water is full of blue - green algae which is very toxic to humans, dogs and even cats. i know, it’s hard to resist but please please do not swim here. gorgeous spot though and i definitely recommend but please please please do not swim or take your dogs here.

Definitely more green than blue currently but still a nice walk around. Wouldn't make a massive effort to come here tho.

Great spot for a quick stop, no public amenities such as toilets or BBQ's; if that's what you're after go over the other side of Melbourne Rd to St Georges Lake.A few words of warning, as others have mentioned there is no obvious signage here so the main viewing area can be tricky to find.To get to the main viewing area turn off at 'Wallaby Track' FROM MELBOURNE RD and not via Salty Creek Rd.As you pull in you should see a wooden sign saying Portugese Pit and then you should be able to see the main fenced lookout.Do NOT follow Wallaby Track around to the left of the viewing area in a normal car or do so at your own risk: this track does degrade the further in you go to the point where you will need a 4WD vehicle, and even then --and I say this as somewhat of a local-- I would STRONGLY advise that you know how to use 4WD and have recovery gear in your vehicle as it gets scary the further along you go. Also DO NOT even consider it in the wet; you've been warned! The viewing area itself isn't much and has some fencing, though this can easily be circumvented to get down to the lake. Now, for anyone willing to take the risk of doing this be warned! On the other side of that fence is a sheer drop and the ground is unstable, so it's your choice: fall off and you're going to be having a pretty bad day. This is even more applicable if you have dogs off leash. If you do want to risk it and manage to walk to the right hand side of the viewing area you will come across your second obstacle: a steep slippery drop that you will most likely have to 'slide' down before you can actually walk on somewhat of a path down to the waters edge.So yeah, nice spot for a quick looksee, but anything else it's hardly worth the trouble.

A hidden gem! Parked up the top and went down the steep path to the right of the car park. Probably would’ve been easier to take the longer road around to the left but we weren’t sure about the car. So nice to sit by the water and swim on a hot day

Very picturesque - need 4wheel drive to get to certain locations.

Well, what an amazing sight this is! Even on a dull and overcast day the water looks like a turquoise blue Caribbean lagoon. It must be sizable quartz quarry which has now filled with water which creates this stunning illusion. Whilst it is quite a spectacle, it is not well signposted and there are no other amenities. I can imagine it being a great “swimming hole” in the warmer months.

Yes the water is a beautiful view, a remarkable phenomenonBut it looks like no one loves it. In fact, with very little signage to convey the history and geography of the place, and all the litter and spoiled nature, it really seems that this place has been left to rot by a local community who don’t value the treasures they’ve been blessed withMost disappointing
