Anderson Hill Cellar Door Restaurant

This place is stunningly positioned, with gorgeous views to all angles – our personal favourite on a recent month long road trip across 3 states. The wine is amazing, we tried 4 varieties and loved them all so much that we signed up for monthly deliveries. The food was divine as well, we had a huge, varied and perfectly cooked lunch. Attitude is super relaxed, welcoming and non-pretentious (although it very well could be – their neighbouring, lesser wineries, sure are). Staff are in no rush for you to leave or purchase a lot. The charming trio of dogs were a cherry on top. Thank you for our awesome visit!

Had a good day at this place but a couple of things could have been a bit better. The pizzas were a bit wanting in this day, just not enough taste and a bit inconstant with thickness and cooking. It was very cold in the room, probably needed a bit more wood on the fire. All in all we had a good day but just a couple of things that could have been better. Nice wine. Will definitely go back to this winery.

A beautiful experience, where time & life as we know it today, just momentarily stood still. The views, the food, the service, the restaurant was a wonderful mid morning experience. It was Monday , 11am, 19th June, quite a windy, cold mid morning where glorious sunshine would break through the winter clouds. The 0 series local Pinot was beautiful with my sirloin steak. A beautiful refreshing pear & walnut salad sang to our palates. The host Seth was very professional, warm & genuine with excellent local background information on the wines, food and winery. Dessert produced from local apples concluded the brunch beautifully with a quality cappuccino. I'll be back with my wife, family and friends. Highly recommended. Another wonderful winery & restaurant right in our beautiful backyard.

Went for lunch today. Staff were nice but was a bit disappointed with the food. I ordered the mushroom pizza - it had no flavor and almost no cheese and came out cold. The croquettes were nice but the corn ribs again had no flavor. Not much of a vibe in the restaurant. It would be better sitting outside and taking in the view but too cold today. They have a limited kids menu and other than that, not much to interest kids. Wines were good though.

The setting is absolutely beautiful, it was just lacking in service and value. $50 for a kids meal is definitely excessive but acceptable if it’s done well ( 3 courses). My daughter had fruit salad which had mushy watermelon and celery in it… $85 for a 3 course Mother’s Day set menu - I couldn’t eat the dessert due to allergy and was offered the fruit (and celery?) salad which was declined. Entree served before any drinks, Mains served with no cutlery. one entree cold, the other piping hot. Serves we’re tiny and no option to purchase extra sides. The young wait Staff were so friendly but certainly could do with some additional training. Who I presume was The proprietor(s) much less friendly when we arrived and again when we left - quite defensive when I queried the desert. $350 for lunch is certainly on the upper end. We absolutely don’t mind paying but today was marginal at best.

Unfortunately today our dining experience was not good. The setting is beautiful and the welcome was warm. We were surprised that a number of dishes were not available.The croquettes were good, however the wild mushroom pizza and vegetable pizza were both flavourless and dry. The pear and walnut salad also lacked flavour.They may have been short staffed as there was no follow up after the first round of drinks and no enquiry if we enjoyed the meal. I hope they were just having an off day.Overall it was very underwhelming.

Bikes aren't welcome because they detract from the view"A picture paints a thousand words. But some pictures don't quite depict the words spoken and how they were spoken.Had a great burger and IPA elsewhere.It wasn't our expectations that didn't match our experience. It was the bar tender (No way it was possibly the owner!?) that needs training in how to make friends and influence people.The young staff were flawless."

The fungi wood fired pizza was hands down the pick of the food ordered today, closely followed by the gin cured salmon and oh the wine was pretty good as well. Plenty of tables inside and outside. Parking, views of vines and friendly happy staff. Love the dogs walking about the customers, so well behaved.

Such a beautiful hidden gem! Seth looked after us and was so attentive with his service, he made sure everything was perfect.Service 10/10, food also a 10/10. Highly recommend the Apple Pastry Dessert and the Ribs.Will definitely be coming back to try the pizzas!

Got a great window table with the most amazing view over the Adelaide Hills. Interior is warm & a little rustic with a fireplace. Overlooking the vineyard & a good choice of red or white wines. Great value menu - recommend the 'corn' entree & the mushroom rissoto. Excellent value. Will be back.
