Songbirds Rainforest Retreat

The place is quite run down now, the restaurant has closed down, cheap Kmart appliances and accessories in the room. The breakfast basket was an absolute joke, nothing like what was advertised.The one person working there was run off her feet having to do everything herself so the service was second rate really.Wouldn’t go back there again!

Amazing place to unwind and getaway from the hustle and bustle. Really good size cottages with great amenities and all the little things provided for. Morning breakfast was great and every detail well thought of, can't wait to be back!

Beautiful location and a lovely warm welcome from the team. Turns out they were super short staffed but did everything to make our arrival so easy. The villas are tucked away in the rain forest and wonderfully appointed. There isn't a kitchenette but a setup for tea, coffee and a paid mini bar.The king sized bed was so comfortable with a wonderful breakfast delivered in the morning.We will definitely be back.

Has such a lovely time here. So private and the room was lovely. We went with the outdoor spa bath for our summer stay and it was such a tranquil experience. The alpacas were cute and the goats were very friendly. We were able to hand feed them. The staff were so warm and welcoming and the breakfast each morning was a fabulous treat. I'll definitely be coming back.The room was clean and comfortable and the full size fridge was a great surprise. Easy to keep many snacks and drinks.

Amazing rainforest retreat. Close to lots of attractions. The villas are beautiful with spa baths big enough for two. A great getaway location for you and your partner, where you can switch off for a few days and really experience the best that Australia has to offer. Highly recommended.

We recently stayed for 2 night with our 7 month old. Plenty of room in the cabin for our porta-cot and she really enjoyed the alpacas and goats on the property. Friendly staff. We had a great weekend.

My two friends, their baby and I stayed at the retreat in March. We've sent an email with our feedback privately, however, had no reply, therefore, I'm posting this public review.We thoroughly enjoyed the surrounding area, the rainforest and the animals on the property. Although, we were very much disappointed with the state the villa was in. We had high expectations for this stay, as we were paying the price of the luxury accommodation. However, there were a few issues that made impossible for us to fully enjoy the experience. Firstly, one of the main reasons for booking the villa was presence of the fireplace, which to our disappointment, was not working and could not be repaired. Secondly, the toilet in one of the rooms was not able to flash and could not be fixed either, which left us to only one toilet in the second room. At last, we had some food to cook on the bbq that we brought with us, as it was one of the facilities advertised. We found no bbq at the villa but one of the workers kindly agreed to bring one for us when we enquired. However, the bbq was left at our doorstep and upon our request to move it on to the deck outside, the man said that he could not and left us to deal with it ourselves, which at the end we managed to move to the deck outside, not without some trouble.Don't recommend the retreat if wishing to have a care free luxurious stay!

My husband had leech bites when we stayed there. One of the wounds was bleeding for three hours although I pressed it... it's our first time visiting the forest resort so we only have panadol. As this is Christmas we knew the reception is closed so we called the emergency contact. The gentleman who answered said he would ask the receptionist to prepare iodine when we check out. When we checked out, the receptionist told us she didn't prepare anything for that and she mentioned we are the First guest ever have this leech problem. Understand it's the Christmas day so we didn't bother much but wait for the next day. But the receptionist’s attitude is also unacceptable and careless, we are not only pay for the place but also the service, it's a bit upset when we had this experience..
