Fortune Five Chinese Restaurant
The food here is AMAZING! We order plenty of food and they were all delicious. The customer service there was not that good. Most waiters were nice and calm expect for some waiters who were rude. The rude waiter shouted at us to move aside and then slammed the food onto the table. We all felt pretty uncomfortable and violated that she slammed the food right onto our table.

We had a Dim Sum lunch here. The food was high quality. The scallop one had a lot of scallop inside. Same with the shrimp ones. High quality and high price.

Very nice service. The service staffs helped us with all our requests despite we kept asking for stuffs. We ordered lobster porridge, half roast chicken and fried oyster. The restaurant provided dessert and cut oranges complimentary. Excellent Chinese restaurant at Chinatown for people who love Chinese food there.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Five Fortune James St, and I must say it is one of the best places for breakfast in the North Bridge area. As a Chinese restaurant specializing in traditional dim sum dishes, I assume it is run by Hong Kongers, and they definitely know their craft.The service at Five Fortune James St is exceptional, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a great dining experience. The food is simply delicious, and I enjoyed it so much that I ended up visiting the restaurant twice during my four-day stay in the area. It's safe to say that it is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Australia.In terms of pricing, Five Fortune James St remains reasonable, considering the quality of the food and the overall experience. It's always a relief to find a place that offers both excellence and affordability.If I had to pick my personal favorites from their menu, I would highly recommend trying their Xiao Long Bao, porridge, and fried squid. These dishes stood out for their amazing flavors and were truly delightful.Overall, I can't recommend Five Fortune James St enough. Whether you're in the mood for a delicious breakfast or craving authentic Chinese dim sum, this restaurant should be at the top of your list.

Really good Chinese food. Coming from Melbourne, this place took us by surprise! Loved steamed Oysters and lobster noodle. Very affordable prices too.

One of the best dim sum restaurants in Northbridge. Food was delicious and fresh. Fantastic service. One little comment - should add some black beans to the ribs.

This is our go to place for Dim Sum lunch on the weekends for years now. The queue outside the place speaks volume for their quality, and also their success in taking over the store next door to manage both spaces side by side AND still have a queue during peak time!We also were lucky to have a fantastic experience to have dinner there for our birthday. The managers and owners were kind enough to offer us flexibility on their banquet selection, and our guests left with a full stomach and satisfied appetite with leftovers too.As long as they are managed the staff shortage facing the industry, we will continue to patronage this place for a delicious quality dimsum and dinner banquet.Keep up the good work Ronald, Steve, Joe & Jung!Tip 1: to avoid a queue, get there before 10am opening or you may face up to an hour wait like we did when it’s between table sittingsTip 2: be prepared to self serve your condiments from the self serve counter to avoid wait time from the busy waiters and waitresses doing their best to serve every patron during busy weekend lunchtime
