Lunch for 6 today for 11am to 12.30pm session.... At 12.00pm .. was asked if anything to eat.. no .. so manager took the bill... Yes, we are aware that we need to leave before 12.30pm but come on.. you had 5 to 6 empty tables already..and again told us at 12.23. The manager came and say we need it by 12.30... then I said we still have 7 mins we spent over 200 dollars for yum cha but feel a bit cold to be honest. Food was decent

One of my new favourites yumcha place in Melbourne! I booked a table here because I have tried almost dim sum places in the city and wanted to try something different. I browsed online and found Tao Tao House got good reviews so I decided to try.I found the foods were really good and fresh. I also liked that they used the trolley to bring the foods around so I could see what the had.The restaurant itself not really big but it felt really cozy. The staff were quite friendly and attentive.Overall, I really like the foods and the atmosphere so will definitely be back in the future.

Our first yumcha place in Melbourne after moving from Sydney.Let's start from service, normally yumcha places are known for poor service. But in Tao Tao its excellent service, and its service with a smile.Food excellent, there's too many favorites to list. If you go with kids and your kids eat a lot then definitely go for yumcha set menu.Kid friendly, high chair was all set up.Cleanliness, very clean and even the toilets were clean.Unfortunately I can't rate 4.5 on Google thus giving a 4 star. The only problem I have found is we ate a lot and the bill was confusing. After reworking we found they owed us, but it was sorted straight away. In future if the bills could provide itemized then it would be the same. Unfortunately this is the same issue I have seen across various outlets.Highly recommend booking in first. Finally, would I go here again, YES, YES, YES....

Would say it’s one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants in Melbourne. Love its low key simple 90’s decor. It brings me back to that old time Chinese movies scenes. The service is superb. The background piano music perfectly fits into the atmosphere of talks and laughs.Partner and I ordered football dumplings, wagyu beef cheek, salty fish and dry chicken tofu clay pot and a vegetable dish. Each dish is nicely cooked. Especially the football dumplings and beef cheek. We could taste the freshness. They just came out from the stove. We even ordered another 2 serves of football dumplings to take away home.Thank you for giving us such a delightful dinner experience.

Ordered the large special fried rice with prawns. 9 prawns and no spring onion, bit disappointing.

We have dined at Tao Tao House previously selecting our meal from their à la carte menu however this time we visited to try out their Yum Cha offerings. We were impressed, not only with the dishes but also the service, especially from a young guy with a great sense of humour.

When the yumcha craving strikes, we visit here for the whole package (tasty food, good service, clean, pleasant decor). The memorable dishes for us are their braised eggplant, fried whiting and fried prawn cakes. We find their service to be attentive and not rushed, which may or may not have something to do with the 3rd yumcha seating. Prices are, I guess, reasonable for the entire package

Nice and authentic food. Seafood were really fresh. Staff was friendly. But service was slow.We also tried their Yum Cha. It's very good, but be prepared to wait for food to go around as well.

Went there for yum cha on a Sunday. Was surprisingly busy, we managed to get the last table available at the time. Just make sure that if possible, you don't take the table right near the front door. Was absolutely freezing whenever the doors were opening and closing.I rate the food 3.5 stars. There's a good variety of yum cha dishes and food presentation is not bad. However, we found the taste of the food to be rather average compared to other yum cha places in Melbourne, especially given the prices are not particularly cheap.
