Blowdry Boutique

I had been to Blowdry Boutique a few times and planned to go many more given that its location is very convenient for me. I booked an appointment for what I was sure was 07/11/2020. On Saturday, a week before my appointment, I got a call from a woman there questioning where I was. Needless to say I was rather confused, explaining I was actually booked in for the following week. In an incredibly rude and aggressive tone, she told me “no you didn’t. You booked for today, we will still be charging you” and proceeded to hang up before I could enquire further. I went straight to my text messages where there was NO SMS reminder for my supposed appointment. My emails contained a confirmation booking and that a $50.00 payment was successfully made but with absolutely no reference to the date of the appointment. I called back and asked them if there was anything that could be done as I had already paid and this was clearly a very genuine mistake on both of our parts. In an unprofessional and condescending tone she said it was too bad, insisting I would have been sent a text message (which I never was). It’s safe to say I will never go back here after experiencing the most unprofessional and rude “customer service”. She could have easily calmly explained the situation to me and shown a tiny bit of empathy to a clear misunderstanding. Unfortunately, it’s clear she has no regard for the proper treatment of loyal customers.

Today my mother and I had booked appointments for ourselves to have a treatment and blow dry at your Mosman branch. Alan Coban in the cbd is my regular salon however it’s no longer the best option for me to travel.We entered the salon and all three employees were slouched on seats. One sat up behind the desk and we told him we had an appointment and he said okay please take a seat at the basin. My mother and I approached the basin but there was someone sitting at one (there are only 2) He was busy scrolling on his phone looking through shoes and had a plate of food on the bench which I noticed a bit later.Uncertain I asked if he was a customer or worked there? He looked up at me and begrudgingly said I don’t have to be so rude to which I explained I wasn’t trying to be I just wasn’t sure as his colleague had asked us to take a seat but he was clearly comfortable and not pressed to move for us anytime soon. Words between us ensured in such a vulgar and unpleasant manner. I am truly shocked at his behaviour. He was incredibly unprofessional. He said we walked in to the salon rude? Which is confusing because I can’t imagine that anyone would have a reason to behave that way. It would be incredibly uncomfortable to behave in this manner towards anyone let alone someone we are wanting to provide us with their service. I explained that we no longer wanted to go ahead. I can guarantee he has problems with other staff and that this is not the first altercation with a customer. He was in our face with fingers up in the air to the point where I had to step in front and put my hand in between him to step away from my mum. He ended the conversation saying “bye girl!” I think that comment speaks volumes. He definitely is doing the business a disservice. I would advise watching the cctv footage if you have it.

Love love love this place. I’ve been coming here for 10yrs and have consistently got fabulous blow drys that last a week. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere. Jaz always does my hair, highly recommend him. He’s now doing my hair for our wedding

Little disappointed very unprofessionalHair stylist didn’t bother to look what I booked. Didn’t seem to understand my hair and did whatever. Manager spoke about issues with shop whilst I was there overshare. My hair was terrible he didn’t care

These guys are fantastic! I see both Jaz and Harry for blowdries pretty regularly and I always walk out feeling fantastic - they get extra points for understanding what I’m asking for when I have no idea how to explain it! I highly recommend popping in if you’re looking for a quality blow dry in Mosman.

I made an appointment 4 weeks ago for my hair to be done for my 40th birthday. I turned up, on time to find the doors shut. I called the double bay salon (because the Mosman number just rang out) only to be told they were short staffed and I should have received a call on Wednesday to let me know. I was fully dressed, with make up on, ready to go straight to my birthday lunch. There was no missed call, text, or email. THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE. The fact it was my birthday lunch and the woman on the phone kept telling me I didn’t answer my phone on Wednesday couldn’t have made the experience any worse.

Was totally lost without this place during lockdown. Such amazing service, beautiful blowdries from all the staff - especially the amazing Jaz. Best thing is it’s super quick when you need to pop in and out.

Excellent! Love this place. The staff are friendly and professional. I have been there 4 times now and Nick who has done my hair makes me look and feel glamorous every time. Thank for providing a wonderful service. Minnie
