I was privileged to have visited Café Gummo during their opening night. I was met with a charming, urban bar that offers a safe and welcoming atmosphere. The crowd was vibrant, passionate and into the music. The variety of music acts featured on opening night blew me away. I was particularly mesmerised by James Seedy who is featured in the review photos. His talent is so understated, I was hypnotically taken away by his performance and meeting the guy was also humbling as he is just the sweetest. The owners are just as sweet. Sean and Lily worked the bar and floor like masters of their art. Their charming and high charisma definitely help. Pretty good selection of drinks, I am it the biggest drinker so it is lost on me. There is a beer garden out the back which is a nice reprieve from the tight quarters of the main bar. There are some very generous toilets provided for guests for their bodily needs.Based on my first impression of this bar, I wish Café Gummo every success. The potential is so big and I felt apart of the scene and culture here. They are very friendly to you and you should have a good time here.

Always welcoming to the right communities, I always have felt safe and had a great night! Bartenders are professional, won't complain if you asked for a mixed drink unlike some other similar establishments. Close to the tram stop on high street too! What else could you ask for!

So much fun...Video and photo shoot complete, with over 100g of video captured with one of the best live bands I've seen in a while.Drink prices are generous, food is good.Sort yourself out and plan to get down on one of their themed nights. You'll thank me for it.Then post your photos to google maps.

Best bar in the north. Closest you’ll get to a German punk bar. Great beer and spirit options. You must try a Club Mate with vodka or a Mexicana shot.

Grimey little dive bar, with a tiny stage in the corner and a nice little beer garden. Great atmosphere, up there with my favourite bars in Melbourne.
